The Hunting Lodge - Luxury Resort in Udaipur, Organic Luxury Resort — Hotel in Rajasthan

We visited this resort for a family picnic and pool party to celebrate my Dad's birthday (group of 14).

The property is excellent and located in an amazing location but poorly managed. We visited before noon and had lunch, hi tea, evening snacks, pool party and dinner (everything À la carte).

I give 2 star less for following reason:

1. We booked pool from 3 to 5 and management confirmed our booking before our visit. But right after 15-20 mins of getting into the pool, another group got down in the pool. We called manager and asked how could they allow another group after confirming this slot to us to which he replied these are inhouse guest and they cannot ask them to not use the pool. So after a pointless discussion we chose to leave the pool coz we didn't want to share the pool and other group won't leave. All in all if you're planning a pool party, this is not the place. Booking a slot is useless ( I have no idea why they won't inform while they take bookings that other guests will be jumping in too within the same time slot).

2. Another reason for one less star is extremely average food quality. Also when we ordered two portions we received only one and when we asked where is another portion we were told they served both the portions in one bowl (difficult to concur looking at the bowl size which was perfect for one serving). Service was fast, but taste is average or maybe below average. Honey chilly potato that we ordered for evening snack was a disaster. Tea was good.

We also booked a room from noon till evening till we left. Rooms are pretty good.

To summarise we had a good time but that was mainly because of the company. Pool was a turnoff and mismanagement was evident with average food quality (and overpriced looking at the portion size).

PS: My review is based on a visit after lockdown relaxations (11 July 2021) when they might be running short on staff (giving benefit of doubt), so the food review is based on the chef appointed then. This experience might...

If you are considering going to the hunting lodge then you should definitely visit this place. I went there on the day of Rakshabandhan with 4 of my friends. We booked the pool a day before. It was pretty simple we just booked it on call. We were not asked for advance money. The way to the lodge was pretty simple too. We used Google Maps. The place is very quiet and was hygiene was well maintained. We ordered paneer chilly along with hara bara kabab, both were delicious. The only thing which could have been better is the music system. Now let me talk about the pool. It was very clean and huge. The height of the pool is around 4ft. I would like to appreciate the behaviour of staff. They were generous and kind and also the service was quick. There were two washrooms, one for male and other for female. However there was no shower or tap inside either of the washrooms. You have to take shower outside and then go and change in the washroom. I in particular found it bizarre. Overall I enjoyed myself there was no disturbance on part of the staff or any other visitor. Yes, I would rate the hospitality and experience I had with Hunting Lodge was like more than 5 star honestly. What I like about resort are : Service is very prompt. Staff is very genuine. specially thanks to kaushal saini . Property is very neat and clean. Food is also delicious. Overall Experience: Great We got welcome drink, They upgraded our standard room to deluxe balcony rooms which was very surprisingly and note worthy.
