Kanha Treasure Resort — Hotel in Samnapur

I am giving 1 as unable to give 0 or negatively ratings. Multiple things are unexpected here, which made our trip a bad memory. Okay now explaining few of them. 1st - After safari we thought to check in easily as it was committed that tge resort is in 3 minutes walking distance from Mukki gate. While following the Google map for three mins it says your destination is on your right but there was nothing in our right. (Lols, fake Google entry and fake commitment). We called the receptionist (who says that the gate is in 3 mins walking distance) he said come straight to the same road for next 5 KM. First impression was the last one, 2nd - At the time of check in the receptionist said I am not responsible for this and we should contact to Someone Savaria. (Might be owner). 3rd - Need to pay the balance amount in cash no online transfer or cards. (Expected black money collection as no recipt provided) 3rd - the room smell was something like you entered in the hut whose walls are affected by heavy moist, the useless spray done to cover it, which was failed. I tried a failed attempt to cover it by my own deo. 4th - No power backup, we refreshed in bathroom by using our own mobile light. (Note till now water colour was not visible.) The water was fully muddy when we seen it once the power recovered. We are 6 Guests,1 soap and 2 shampoo pouches, No towels which are given after request. 1 jug water with 1 water glass. TV was not working. Fridge was not working. AC was not working. Hot water is not available in the bathroom. The big gap in between door and floor which made dangerous to stay there. The frog was entered in our room from there. I asked the guy who came to get the frog out from room to cover the gap by anything but in morning nothing was done, when ask him he said ask someone else. Amenities was for show only. Swimming pool was was dirty small insects was swimming there. TT table and pool box was useless. Carrom board was without powder. Pool table had less balls and no stick which was given on repetitive request. 3 gym instruments which were broken. Bonfire was not provided. The Lunch, dinner time was bad. Lunch was served by 2:30 PM and dinner's time was 10 PM. My parents were with us who are diabetes and BP patients whose food timings should on time. And the location was in so interear that we are unable to arrange something for them. My 18 months old daughter was also with us and baby food was not provided as well. She had her food by 5 PM after my wife's quarrel with staff, and guide chefs to make dal rice for her. One thing which I also need to mention here the hotel had its own site with plenty of wrong info. Other booking websites says that no room but when we call they used to inform that we are keeps some rooms for direct booking which is definitely a false comments because in our case as well they said the same thing but in the time of check in we found only 1 couple there who were already staying there and 2 families came in evening. So you guys can see our condition in the points. The resort is quite good. You'll enjoy with your family with your friends ☺️. Amenities you'll get are Swimming Pool (4 ft deep)[ I was there for 1 day on 26th October 2022, There were insects in the pool as trees are surrounding the pool but don't worry they will not bite you as they are enjoying it too 😜, Around another half of the day water was so cold ], Baby swimming pool [at another half sunlight still strikes here max 1 feet 🐾 deep], Game zone( Carrom1, Table tennis1, 8 ball pool*2 one small table and one big table), Buffet (for Food){Food is very tasty lots of stuff with food with continental which will add more flavour your taste buds I enjoyed a lot while eating as theirs a sound system as well with lofi or decent songs running on it or you can change by your choice, Dinning Table Feel with everyone }, Ground to play ⏯️, Bonfire zone 🔥, Liquor 🥃, Smoking 🚬 ( Hookah) you can bring your own hookah as i don't know about Liquor 🥃, you can smoke as well No one will disturb you in your space as much as you don't disturb anyone. You can't fire crackers or play music 🎶 at high volume as you're in forest area. Customer service is very good 👍. My Grandfather order tea 🍵 it was around ₹60/- per cup. I ordered hot milk and it cost me around ₹110/- at room service. (Plain milk with sugar) For Game zone you have to pay ₹500/- which are refundable at checkout. 🤑 I don't know the liquor 🥃 cost thier but it's available if you didn't take with you. You can take your smoking kits with you if you want no restriction for whether they are charging some cost I'm sorry I forgot to ask as I was with my family 😉. The Rooms we got were 113(little bit smaller than 114) & 114 (I loved this room was huge ) and the bathroom was like a whole room you can go and sleep there as well 😝. TV , AC , Decent lights, Western Toilet, Soap were not available, Shampoo and Body soap were there, Immersion Rod was already available at back of the door 🚪. Food was very delicious 😋 you can have with everyone on dinning. Customer service is Very Good 😃. Beautiful People there You'll feel you are at home 🏡. My experience was Good. I will not say Excellent as when i booked he didn't mention about the "CORE ZONE". We gone through package 📦 he provided for the "BUFFER ZONE". IF POSSIBLE PLEASE GO FOR CORE ZONE 🤩. Safari is included in package he will give the details after your Dinner 🍽️. If you want to go straight from the resort to safari you have to pay extra ₹500/- 🤑💵 For pickup and drop service otherwise you can go with your own vehicle 🚗🚙. I recommend not to go to the "BUFFER ZONE" otherwise they will only show you the "PUG-MARKS" as they usually do the same with others. You'll get tiffin boxes from the Resort so you can have them there in the forest with natural Vitamin D sunlight (i got bread with jam and tasty Parathas with Water bottle). The resort was upgrading I hope it will become more beautiful when I go there next time. Genuine review of this property:

1.) Location: The property is located in a small village, approx 4 kms from the Mukki gate of Kanha tiger reserve. Approx 300mts from the mukki gate, you have to enter a village and do off-roading. If you are an off-roading lover you will love this because you can see the jungle and buffer area while you traverse through this off road. Since its 4kms from the main road, you will hardly get any grocery store or snacks corner in this area. Hence you have the compulsion to eat the resort food. I would advice to carry some snacks/ food packs along with you.

2.) Ambiance: The property is quite vast and peaceful with lovely ambiance surrounded by bamboo plantations all over the area. The property is divided into cottages in different areas. The property has a reception, dining area, small playground, a swimming pool, play area which houses carom board, table tennis and 2 snooker pool tables.

3.) Rooms/Cottages: Frankly speaking I am confused to write this because the room was under furnished, the beds were being built up by some wood structure which was looking under furnished, but the bathrooms were excellent and well furnished. (Please don’t expect hot water). Somewhat confusing to rate it as good if you see the both aspects. The room was equipped with A/C and TV but both remote controls were not working. Switch boards and sockets were not working. Overall average rating.

4.) Food: The food served in the buffet was poor in quality. Looked like food served in government mess. If you see the resort, the food didn’t live upto expectations. And you are helpless to eat it because no restaurant till 4kms. If you look at their restaurant menu, the prices are sky touching ones. Hence you have to opt for buffet food. Some kind of compulsion which I didn’t find worth.

5.) Staff: Although less in number, but a bit helping. Make sure you inquire about resort rules and regulations, terms etc before checking in. Make sure you are clear with it. Otherwise they seem to argue with you. **SOMETHING STRANGE: The electricity in this property seems to be frequently cut several times a day. Either done intentionally or not, I am not sure. But the staff will tell you to pay 200/- bucks extra if you want generator to work and provide uninterrupted electricity. Which I found unethical and worst.
