Break Water Resort — Hotel in Shaheed Dweep

Break Water Resort is a lovely property at Ramnagar, Neil Island in the Andamans. The resort comprises of cottages, which have access to the beach, (it has a roughish sea bed like most here, so be careful) as well as a guest house just across. Both come with AC / Non-AC room options. The room at the guest house was well maintained, decently sized with a double bed, and clean with all basic facilities; including a clean, self-contained bathroom. Worth the price for budget travellers. Additionally, the guest house has an inverter facility in case of a power cut, which helps in the sultry summer months.

The property is situated in a quiet area, with the jetty and main market within 2-3 kms, and Laxmanpur and Sitapur Beaches, bookending the island 3-4kms from the resort on either side. Would recommend hiring a cycle to get around and enjoy the island.

It also has an in-house restaurant, which serves fresh, good food; especially the prawn coconut curry, which is delectable. So, it's well worth the wait. The price is what one might consider reasonable by island standards.

As regards wifi access, you will be able to access their wifi at the restaurant for your limited use. I understand that access for the rooms, though, is currently in the works.

Overall, I enjoyed my stay here. Harish, the owner of the property is a gem of a host and a straight-up kind of person. He is delightful to interact with and goes out of his way to help and accommodate his guests; whether it is arranging for ship tickets at the eleventh hour, co-ordinating for local transport, or accommodating a late check-out. He and his team; Supriyo, Rohit, Laxman and his chef ensured that my stay at Break Water Resort was pleasant and comfortable.

We experienced this modest resort ( you can call it a backpackers inn) for 2 days when we had to check out of a much more expensive resort as we had to stay on in the island due to the cyclone in the andamans . ||I will categorically say that it was a much more warm pleasant & homely experience. ||They have these very basic AC rooms (which they are upgrading further) close to a small private beach.. A restaurant which rustles up amazing culinary delights.. though as it's prepared fresh and on demand to suit your palate it takes a little waiting period before it appears on your table.. But I promise you it's worth every second of the wait.. Your taste buds will say so once you have tried them. One peep inti their open kitchen will tell you that they take utmost care about maintaining the hygiene during the preparation of food. ||Mr Harish, the owner,is the most amicable & helpful guy. . Whether it be getting transport to move out or getting tickets for water sports or the ferries. ||||And guess what....The icing on the cake is that he gives you FREE WIFI while you visit the restaurant for your meals.Most expensive resorts don't give you that facility on this island. ||||Highly recommended....

My stay here with my wife was from 09-Feb-2025 to 13-Feb-2025. We were highly impressed with the property, staff, owner, hospitality and food. Owner Mr Harish is a really kind hearted person. He always ensures that his guests do not feel in any uncomfortable situation. He personally attended each one especially during breakfast, lunch and dinner. He made Ginger Tea himself for us and I am proud to say that we had the best tea in the entire Andaman for a four day stay with him. He is always smiling and accepting all kinds of various requests made by guests by keeping smiling. His entire staff is very sincere and working tirelessly to serve guests not only meeting but exceeding their expectations. They do offer various meal plans for lunch and dinner suitable for guests tastes. For breakfast they have limited choice but whatever they serve is tasty. The good thing is that lunch & dinner are prepared with pre order so you always get it served hot n fresh. The property is surrounded by lots of coconut trees but still it is very clean and nicely maintained. It is not a hotel but a kind of a private resort with all the amenities. It is definitely a...
