My husband and I recently stayed at Hotel Taj Guras Kutir which was a part of our anniversary trip, and I must say, it was an experience we will cherish forever. From the moment we stepped into the hotel, we were greeted with warmth and hospitality that set the tone for our entire stay. Upon mentioning that it was our anniversary, the staff went above and beyond to make our special day truly remarkable. The room was adorned with beautiful decorations and a personalized note, adding a touch of romance to the ambience. It was evident that they had paid attention to every detail to ensure our comfort and delight. We were mesmerized by the stunning views from our room(room no 702) of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the impeccable amenities provided. Although we weren’t so lucky with the weather hence could only see the mountain peaks once during our stay. They arrange a high tea at 4-5pm for all guests and you can sit either outside in the terrace area from where you could easily spot the Eastern Ranges and Mt. Kanchenjunga (only if weather is favourable) or you could sit inside near their Bar area which is also a warm and cozy place. They have a daily evening ritual of prayer which is done by a monk. It was so nice of the staff to call my husband and myself to light candles and pray with them. What truly touched our hearts was the thoughtful gesture of presenting us with a delicious anniversary cake, complete with our names beautifully inscribed on the plate which was sent to our room at 12am on my request. It was a sweet gesture that made us feel incredibly special and appreciated. For this I would really want to thank the staff member “Yogita” who was there throughout to help us with any kind of requirements. Then a wonderful surprise was when after finishing a breakfast in their restaurant Machan, the staff member “Angel” including the chef and few others came with a small cake to celebrate our anniversary. They were always there to make anything for us in the breakfast (I ate waffles every day during our stay; thanks to them for making it for me). There was another person in the restaurant Machan named “Arun” who spoke to us during our dinner and we connected on a lot of experiences being shared by both of us and him. He even gave us Orange and mint herbal tea(without any caffeine) after our dinner and taught us how simple it was to make it. The celebrations don’t end here, when we came back to our room on the day of our anniversary, it was beautifully decorated along with a bouquet of beautiful fresh flowers. This was again done by “Yogita” with the help of the housekeeping staff “Satya”. Satya cleaned our room every day and made sure to do small gestures like keeping a foot mat under our slippers, beautifully arranging our things in the bathroom etc. The entre housekeeping staff like "Sumita", "Swapan" and "Satya" etc have been really caring during our stay and even gave us few amenities to take back home. Not to forget, "Khushi" from the travel desk was very prompt in arranging cabs for us and guiding us in how can we explore Gangtok. She was the one who arranged permit for us to Nathula Pass which I feel no one should ever miss if you visit Gangtok. During the checkout, "Aditya" and "Bijay" helped us in a smooth checkout process and even gave a souvenir to my husband to take back home and a skin care set from a local Sikkim brand for me. Throughout our stay, the staff went out of their way to ensure that every moment was memorable. Their genuine warmth and attentiveness made us feel like royalty, and we couldn't have asked for a better way to celebrate our anniversary.

Any Taj hotel charges you a bomb amount but Hotel Taj Guras Kutir exceeded our expectations in every aspect as it is a newly opened property, and we are immensely grateful for the efforts they made to make our anniversary day and the stay truly magical. This is a new property. We celebrated birthday stay with the property and were very happy.

We been surprised with each step at the hotel, from the arrival until departure. Upon arrival, we received a very warm welcome by Mr. Sougata and his team, we attended a prayer by the Monk, followed by high-tea. In the meantime our child played a game of chess with a very kind Taj family member.

We were provided a luxury villa room with the best view from the property. The view of Mt. Kanchenjunga and the golden peak at sunrise was stunning and worth the early rise. The room was nice and cozy and specially decorated for birthday with flowers, a mini celebration Cake and another cake for our child to prepare.

The dinner was a memorable one with an exclusive decorated table with candle lit décor. The food was scrumptious and Mr. Arun and his team ensured we had a memorable dinner and the experience was significantly enhanced by the exceptional staff. The Taj team again offered us with a celebration cake and took exceptional care of our child’s food demands.

The breakfast was again a great one. As we had a planned travel day with our child, the team was kind enough to offer some packed food for our travel. Unfortunately I don't have the names of everyone but yes every single Taj family member did put exceptional efforts to make the stay a memorable one.
