Coral Reef Hotel & Spa, Port Blair — Hotel in South Andaman Island

We came across this hotel by Chance as it was booked by MMT Tour packages. I must say that stay at this hotel has been a pleasant surprise . Let me break down what we loved about this place . ||Hospitality: the staff were amazing ! They were courteous and responsive to our needs and queries. We have stayed in hotels in India and Abroad and we are club Mahindra members , but the smaller things are well done by the team here . Right from the briefing about the hotel and the city, to the welcome drinks, the availability of wet wipes are all well taken care of . They also have a complimentary Foot massager that you can avail at any point of time . ( it’s a mechanical one , but better than not having one and is a relief after a long days walk !) . ||Design : this is a highlight ! The hotel has been thoughtfully designed . Not a single element is repeated and there is newness in design on all floors. The athletics has been thoughtfully considered and a shoutout to the person responsible for this ! Hope they maintain this well …. ||Food : you cannot screw up on seafood in Andamans and they didn’t either . The food was decent to good . The portion sizes are huge so order thoughtfully. The prawns were good, chicken coconut soup was amazing .they had one of the best crème caramel I have ever had . Breakfast is Decent. They do not have a bar which was a let down but they are building one .. :) ||Rooms : the rooms are spacious and looks very modern and good .Aesthetics get top marks. They are super clean and have a good vibe ( atleast the ones we stayed in ) . They do not have any good views though as it’s in the middle of a town and that’s the only let down . Ask for rooms with sunlight and it should be good to go. Room ending in 9s have good sunlight .i don’t know about the rest . ||Location : 10 mins drive from the airport at Batu Basti . Hence do not have any good views from the rooms . But since you would be spending most of the time out, this doesn’t really matter ! ||What they can improve :|The safe was non functional, some one had locked it left . I recently stayed at the hotel, and my experience was disappointing. The manager's dishonest practices left me feeling cheated. Despite the pleasant exterior, beware of potential issues during your stay. Not only did the dishonest manager Mr Sanjay ruin my stay, as the room was not at all spacious as there was no room for walking after the extra bedding. The situation became even more challenging for my family as we were asked to wait for almost 3hours for check in when we already informed about our arrival time 3days before!we could have made arrangements In other property and not wait for 3hours literally at the reception! Next morning we had a ferry at 8:30am for which we had to reach at 7:30 and leave hotel at 7am! I especially requested receptionist , restaurant receptionist, junior manager and then senior manager at the restaurant but nobody was interested in changing a cheese sandwich breakfast which they prepare a night before to vegetable sandwich or parathas or eggs for the kids and the old lady! They just did not care! And finally when agreed for eggs at night but did not pack it the next morning!! Such heartless people! The location is far off from everywhere and the pictures of hotel are deceptive! Mr Sanjay is the manager at Coral reef resort who thugged us! He insisted on letting us stay at the same property in Havelock island promising a private beach and which is not even a 10metre open garbage dump area! It is sooo far off from the main Radha Nagar beach that one has to think twice before leaving the property! Also the guard asked us not to carry outside food which was just parathas I was carrying from the Radha Nagar beach for the kids! How are they so non caring for the kids!! So not at all advisable to book this property at Port Blair or Havelock! Big...
