During our trip to Andaman, hotel Bipasha was one of the 4 hotels that we stayed at in different places. It was the most pathetic hotel out of the 4. They spy on their guests. They had some funny conditions too. Upon reaching, the reception person told us that you will compulsorily have to deposit the key when you are out. We asked what kind of condition this is. They told its actually not mandatory but if you happen to lose the key you have to pay Rs 5000! We had a hearty laugh after knowing this. Never I had seen this before anywhere around the globe. The other day, when we reached back to the hotel, the reception lady asked my wife that while you were away, we searched your room and found one towel missing. We were shocked that they were spying on us in our absence. We told yes; we took a towel to the beach. The lady said it is not allowed; you cannot take a towel to the beach.
Throughout our stay, the shower never worked. The tap water had a super slow flow, so much that it may take 30 minutes to fill a bucket. Only after you call their reception and talk about it, then they will increase the water flow from their end! Therefore, you have to inform them every time you go to bath (probably a part of their spying mechanism). One day I asked them why it happens like that. They said Andaman has water issues. We stayed in 3 other hotels, nowhere such silly things about water scarcity in Andaman were told. Neither did any such thing happened.
TV did not work. Once we call the reception to report it. They sent a man who started it. Then power interruption happened, and the TV again stopped working. We decided to leave it and go to sleep. Dinner was served one hour after you make an order in their restaurant. Till then keep looking at each other and keep feeling your hunger. And yes, they treat you specially if you are a bengali. If you are a non-Bengali, dinner may take upto 1.5 hours.
Now I can understand if these things (shower, TV and food kind of things) can happen in some Rs 800-1000 room hotel. But when you are renting a room for Rs 5000, such basic things are taken for granted to be working perfectly. You cannot cite water issues in Andaman.
I dont know how it has been rated so highly in the reviews, Probably they are all paid reviews. We had another family with us staying in another room. They too faced all the same problems and were regretting all the time for booking it.
We were deceived after seeing the images of this. So much that we were actually thinking it to be the best of the 4 hotels we booked. But it was one of the most pathetic hotels I have ever stayed in (even worse than Rs 800-1000 ones).
I would sincerely suggest not...
Read moreWe went here for dinner. The food tasted really awesome. It was just like the food we get in Mumbai. We had ordered chapati, paneer mutter and dal khichdi. The chapatis were just like homemade fulkas soft and awesome. The dalkhichdi was the best part. It was typical Gujarati ghee tadka khichdi which was feeling superb. The ambiance was great. We saw their rooms and they were awesome for couples and pocket friendly too. Overall the hotel is really great to stay in Port blair with awesome food especially for...
Read moreWe stayed in Hotel Bipasha during our stay in Port Blair, Andaman and it was really a wonderful experience there. The hotel is newly built, it's a bit far away from the airport/cellular jail/jetty point but the place is calm without traffic noise and jams. The hotel staff was really good. We had breakfast there and it was also tasty. We even had to catch the jetty early in the morning the next day and they packed our breakfast in advance and handed it over to us, this positive gesture was...
