Salt life -A Ocean Front Property — Hotel in South Andaman Island

Things I liked about the hotel:||1) The manager Zaheer and the guy named Atanu was very humble, polite and professional||2) The lounge area had an excellent sea view||3) The room was neat and clean and they had a mini bar as well||4) The property is close to the Haddo Jetty almost walking distance from where most of the cruises leave||5) They packed us early morning breakfast the day of checkout||6) They booked the cab for local sight seeing, however would suggest hire an auto as it will be cheaper or rent your own scooty||||Disliked · 1) At a price of Rs 2300+ the hotel only provided bed and breakfast, that's fine. However don't expect a buffet breakfast, only few selected food items available.||2) The property is far away from the main market of Aberdeen Bajar, you have to hire an auto which will take Rs 50 one way every time to reach there||3) The property had only 6 rooms and only one floor of an entire building. only one room gets a sea view and rest 5 does not. It does not have a proper dining area or restaurant as well. First of all, this is just a homestay and not a hotel. They have converted entire 2nd floor of a bunglow to use it as a homestay. They don't have a restaurant as well. Also, it is on a road and they don't have beach access as well. No swimming pool also. The only view of the seafront is from a common balcony which is attached to the lobby. No room has any balcony or view. Sea is at other side of the road and you can't access the sea. Only good thing is that rooms are clean and washroom is good. There is no intercom and for any and all small things you have to go to the reception. Since it is on a road there is always some noise coming to the room as well which is quite irritating. Overall it is just an okayish homestay and bit overpriced. Don't get influenced by the photos as they have got some good photoshoot of the property done which they have posted on every travel website. Book this homestay only if you need to spend a night and you are not getting any...

Me and my friend were traveling to Andaman and We booked this hotel almost 10 days back through booking.com and booking was all confirmed and around 7pm it was almost dark when we reached at the property to check-in as our booking was still confirmed the person who was available at the front desk clearly denied to provide us room. We were 2 girls and we tried to make him understand and booking was showing confirmed still he didn't listen anything and replied that we need to contact to booking.com as he has no record of this booking. Even if there was some error which we were not able to understand still on humanity grounds this person can try to help us as it was already dark as sun sets really early there. I am a frequent traveler and i have been to so many places but was totally surprised to see the kind of service this hotel has.
