Hotel Ashwa Park — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

I booked a standard room for 3 adults via goibibo. The room was quite small. But the comfort level was good. Attractive furniture and decoration. The extra bed provided was an actual cot, not just a simple bedding. The room was so small that there was no place to move after that extra cot was placed. The service I have not found to be at par with any star hotel. The room TV Tata Sky application they did not recharge (remember that it is a star hotel). In next 4 hours they could not do it, even they tried repeatedly. That was a very sorry state of affair. The night receptionist did not have courtesy to update the status. The restaurant was spacious. But the North Indian Dinner was horrible. I feel, the hotel should exclude North Indian menus from the menu card if there was no proper cook to prepare them. The complementary breakfast was superb indeed. Overall the hotel was clean. The normal staffs were well behaved and prompt. The receptionists were the weak points of this hotel - both day and night. Their behaviour was good but the professional promptness was totally missing. I would recommend this hotel for business / family / solo travelers. But remember that it is always good to stay only 2 adults max per standard room, due to space crunch. And please keep in mind that in a standard room you will get only two bottles of water (500 ml each), one small shampoo, one small soap, a dental kit. That's all. No electric kettle, tea bag. I think this hotel employees should get special training on customer service, particularly the reception and room service. I knew that we logged in late but after proper intimation to the hotel receptionist earlier the day. We got the rooms which were supposedly left out by other travellers. I don't have an issue in that room allocation but one of the room was stinking like hell !! You can't even stay for a moment with 2 toddlers around. I informed the reception but they said those are the only available rooms. I tried to check the room availability in goibibo on the same hotel same day and we could see rooms were there. It was clear that they don't want to allot a different room even when we said it is unbearably stinky. They sent a room service to clean the toilet but he was asking us if we want to do a room spray. Totally pathetic experience. I tried to stay there for the first time and it would be the last ever. There were much better options available but I stayed there to give a try. I advice any family trying to book here please avoid at any cost. But I am giving a single star for the breakfast and the servicing lady over there. Only gem in the entire staff list.
