HOTEL SAKTHI PARK & CONVENTIONS — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

I and my wife were returning to Chennai by road after a long 5-hour journey from Palani. Feeling extremely tired, we were looking for a decent place to stay when we reached Melmaruvathur. An auto driver recommended this property to us.

Upon arrival, a middle-aged man at the reception quoted ₹1300 for a room, although the online price showed ₹1000. After some negotiation, he agreed to ₹1100, and we were asked to transfer the amount via GPay to his number.

During this time, one of the hotel staff who entered seemed to be uncomfortably scanning both me and my wife from head to toe, which made us feel uneasy.

We finally checked in around 22:50Hrs but were told we must vacate the room by 6:00 AM and the room boy called us at 6 AM to vacate. No flexibility was offered, and we had no choice but to agree.

As an NRI with 13 years of travel experience, I’ve never encountered such an unpleasant and uncomfortable stay. The attitude of the staff and the overall experience were disappointing.

We were supposed to check in on 25th November 2023 when we went there no body was present in reception since we were new to this place we were forced to search for the receptionist and we finally found him after 15 minutes since we had traveled we were very tired finally he allotted rooms on entering room to our surprise no bedsheets were there the intercom phone kept for name sake not working when enquired in reception receptionist told bedsheets have been given for dry cleaning you will get by evening when enquired he told you will get by 20.00 hrs even after 20.00 hrs bedsheets were not provided finally at 22.00 hrs they provided running a hotel where customers are coming for stay after a long travel can't they keep spare bedsheets for providing to customers any how we had a very very bad experience in staying in this hotel hoping for remedial action from hotel management for not treating visitors like this,and take action against persons who are not performing their ...

The rooms were spacious and the beds were comfortable and it's very nearby temple, that's the only reason I see this place can be used but otherwise I would strongly recommend to avoid this lodge. Washroom and it's fixtures are the worst, if you open one tap, there won't be any water in other taps. The faucet doesn't work. The manager had warned us that hot water and TV is not working, but the same is not mentioned in the online booking sites or I'm not sure if they provide these kind of rooms for online booking. Having already paid the amount and we couldn't find any other lodging alternative we had to adjust with what was offered.
