Decided to choose Kyriad Prestige Mayapuri Amira, during the recent visit to Kumbakonam in 1st week of Feb'2021, chiefly because of its brand name and location. ||Stayed here for 3 nights / 4 days.||||Remarkable structure, open spacious corridors with enough open space surrounding it. It's away from the town. It certainly provides a 3-4 star property appearance and potential to operate as one. ||||It just offers one room category. Our room was spacious and well furnished. You might get a chance to see some peacocks. Don't miss the artifacts and the paintings in each corridor. It has a spa, gym and swimming pool. They were not functioning considering the COVID 19 epidemic situation.||||Ideal location for those visiting Swamimalai Murugan temple.||||Didn't notice even simple COVID-19 precautionary measures like sanitizers in common areas. Staff did have masks but weren't wearing them. They started to wear masks at least when they saw us. ||||This hotel has an unique background to the reception and lobby area. The background is a set of shelves lined up with sarees. Looked like reception desk of Saree store.||||Sreeja was at the reception desk and handled the check-in efficiently.||||Noticed old and torn sheets. They were changed immediately. They really struggled to maintain the continued operation of the cable channels. Within 24 hours of our check-in, 4 set top boxes were changed. Finally after I took a firm step, the fifth set top box provided continued viewing till our check-out.||||Had to contact the front desk every single day for the hot water to flow in the taps. This was not a pleasant experience, asking for hot water in an European brand (Kyriad) star kind of property.||||Restaurant had a limited vegetarian menu and operations. Certainly Sharad Kumar needs a special mention, as he took care of coordinating well with the kitchen team complied with our food request. We were on the MAP (meal plan). He even got thali meals served for lunch. Our thanks go to the two chefs, Jaishankar and Satish in the F&B department.||||On the whole this excellent property appeared to be operating with less staff / less experienced staff. Given this, restaurant team appeared to work the best. It was surprising that there was no GM, manager or even supervisors to convey the gaps and get their help during our stay.||||I did come across a person from HR, who appeared to be taking care of the operations. He did step in to fill the gaps and to make our stay comfortable. ||||So, based on our experience have to rate our stay as "AVERAGE". ||||Check-out, was handled professionally and jointly by Sreeja and Raji at the front desk.||||Certainly this property is capable of getting 5 stars, provided its staffed with the appropriate staff and run professionally as it has been set up for.||||Wishing Good Luck to the management and hoping they...
   Read moreI am giving one star because there is no option to give zero star .The started on the first day we had booked 4 rooms via make my trip when we called them to inform that we will be late,they mentioned that no such booking is present in the system .we had already payed the full payment via make my trip 1 month early itself when shared the booking details they mentioned that it is not there in the system. I was traveling with my entire family with fivesenior citizen and kids and it was aroubd 8 pm in the night and we were literally stranded in the road.Then we had to call the toll free number of make my trip and also had to call mayapuri Amira several times and atlast they agreed to give two rooms and other two rooms they mentioned will be given after sometime. Long story short it was an horrible experience and I had booked the room on a peak season the uncertainty of the room and also with no other immediate booking available immediately in other hotels made things more worse .Atlast we checked in and next day we had asked them to clean the room and replace the towel but by the time we came back at night neither they didn't clean the room nor they replaced the towels when asked they mentioned that they thought we already checked out such was there irresponsible reply .    Read moreOut group stayed at this place on 6/25 for one night. We booked through skyscanner search and ended with agoda to make reservation as it gave us the best price overall. Our search was for 6 adults and 3 children in 3 separate rooms. Agoda gave us the price for 9 people in total as the confirmation email & pdf showed with an authorized signatory sign but when we reached the hotel @ 9pm, hotel said the price is for only 6 adults in 3 rooms and children were not included in their contract with booking.com. I had a chat with staff and they keep saying the rule of the hotel and not honoring our reservation. spoke to the manager, and he was rude, did not barge and pushing us to pay for 3 extra person charges of 4,000 rupees. This hotel looked to me like cheaters, a scam to give false details to search engine to get customers, on arrival force them with their rules and get more money. This hotel is highly avoidable. We did call the hotel after agoda confirmation email, couldn't connect via phone and when we got there it was already late to find another place to stay. Also, i have booked through agoda many times and 2 other hotels in the same trip and no issues with any other hotels.
