This is a re-review of Mercure after my recent visit...
Last year, our stay at Mercure Sriperumbudur was average, but little did we know that they had a transformation in store for us!
This Christmas weekend (December 2023) we decided to have a quick detox for a couple of days in Mercure, and we were pleasantly surprised by the remarkable improvements across various areas.
From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with a warm and personalized welcome. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, addressing our previous concerns with utmost professionalism.
One of the noteworthy changes was the pillows, which had been a point of contention during our previous visit. This time, they were rectified to our satisfaction, ensuring a restful night's sleep after a long day of festivities.
The true highlight, however, was the culinary experience. The kitchen staff displayed a newfound level of courtesy and attentiveness, making our dining moments truly enjoyable. The breakfast spread, in particular, was a standout, with a diverse array of delectable options that catered to every palate.
We were also delighted to see some new faces among the staff, bringing fresh energy and enthusiasm to the hotel's operations. Their dedication to providing exceptional service was evident in every interaction.
While we didn't have much time to indulge in the pool area, it remained a tranquil oasis as we remembered it, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle of the city.
Additionally, we were impressed by Mercure's commitment to environmental sustainability. They have replaced plastic water bottles with reusable glass bottles, a commendable step towards reducing plastic waste and promoting eco-friendly practices.
Overall, our Christmas weekend at Mercure Sriperumbudur was a delightful experience, filled with quality time and relaxation. The hotel's commitment to continuous improvement, guest satisfaction, and environmental responsibility was truly commendable.
We look forward to more such rejuvenating getaways with Accor Limitless in the future, confident that Mercure Sriperumbudur will continue to exceed our expectations and provide us with...
Read moreI recently stayed at Mercure for five days and had a mixed experience.
Firstly, the food quality was not up to standard. There were instances of plastic found in the food, which was concerning for hygiene reasons. Additionally, the rotis served were often burnt, indicating a lack of attention to detail in the kitchen. Moreover, vegetarians should be aware that the hotel does not have separate Tawas for veg and non-veg items in their live counters.
However, what salvaged my stay was the supportive nature of the hotel staff, particularly Ankit, Anju, Priyadarshini, along with the reception and restaurant staff. They were attentive, accommodating, and did their best to address any issues that arose during my stay.
Moreover, the hotel's central location near many industries might give them a monopoly in the area, but it also means that guests have limited dining options outside the hotel premises.
Overall, while the hotel staff's supportiveness was commendable, improvements are needed in food quality and hygiene standards to enhance the overall guest experience. Additionally, steps should be taken to ensure the separation of vegetarian and non-vegetarian cooking to cater to the dietary preferences...
Read moreWe had a great experience staying at Mercure Chennai-Sriperumdubure.||The location was great provided it's proximity to industries/work as well as key tourist destinations: Kanchipuram, Mahabalipuram, and Chennai City. It kept us away from the traffic and daily commute to-from any city hotel. Each and every member of the staff was polite, friendly, and extremely helpful. Service Desk: Professional and prompt; Restaurant Staff: Extremely caring and friendly; Room Service/Cleaning: Thorough and helpful; Chef/Food: Tasty authentic local cuisine and a great spread of East Asian, European, and South Indian delicacies every morning and evening. Filter Coffee and Daal Makhani - a must try!||Lastly, I am leaving impressed with their sustainability commitment which is visible everywhere - no plastic to be seen anywhere, and a beautiful and bountiful vegetable/fruit garden next door which I am sure provides fresh ingredients to the Chef and his team.||Shout out for Sunita, Prakash, Ankita, Saraswati, Anju, Janani, Chef Raja and everyone whom we met with a smile...
