Mount N Mist — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

ATTENTION!! This is in regard to our stay at Mount and Mist, Ooty. Just like everyone else, we booked our stay seeing reviews over Google and tripadvisor and the pictures that were displayed by them on the website. Let me start from the very beginning. When we reached the hotel ... on the outside everything seemed nice. But to my surprise when we checked the bathrooms, there were snails crawling on the walls. One of the bathrooms stinked so bad, as if it was never cleaned in the first place. When we reported this to the housekeeping staff they said that they can do nothing for the foul odour. The curtains were worn out and poorly maintained. All of this basically indicative of the poor maintainence and supervision by the hotel staff. My family was petrified of flying susarim cockroaches in the room, lady bugs, beetles and what not, we didn't get any sleep that night out of fear!!! It's not the first time that we booked stay admist a forest/hilly region... But such creatures were never spotted. When we complained about this, all we got to hear was that this is a hilly region, insects are bound to come, keep the room door closed and what not. Instead of solutions, all they offered us were excuses.Next morning, in another bathroom a 15 cm long black earthworm that more or less looked like a snake was spotted. How does one take bath when all you can think and see are such creepy crawlies around you. Even for once if you keep aside all of this, coming to the linen/sleeping mattress, it was worn out. Inspite of knowing that we had a third occupancy, they had no beds available for us and the bed that was right outside the room was placed inside. Attaching the pictures of the mattress below. After paying such a good amount of money, this is definitely not the kind of hospitality one expects. 2 star hotels and lodges are better than this with respect to cleanliness. Mr. Vishal, just met us once the night we checked in and exclaimed that this was one of the best rooms (suite) he could offer and when we called him the next morning, he didn't revert. No replies to our messages and there was nobody to address our problems. We decided to check out in the morning as we were extremely disappointed with what we saw. Our travel agent also tried to call regarding a refund but to no avail. Not for once Mr Vishal was apologetic. He wasn't bothered to come and check up on us even once. He sent a mail stating lies like they set up multiple layers of mattress which is untrue. We set up those beds with possible multiple layers from one bed to another so that the kids could sleep. Ultimately, we had to move to another property in Ooty even though it was heavy on our pockets. I would totally advise you all to NEVER book a stay at this particular hotel. NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL. If you still want to waste your precious time and money at such a poorly maintained...

Worst hotel experience ever!! Please do not fall for the fake good rating given on Google. I stayed there for 2 nights and from the city to reach hotel you will have to pay 500 600 everytime bcz nobody will agree on less, on the very first night there was power cut for 6 hrs and there so called 24*7 customer service was not available we tried calling them in the middle of the night and also went to their reception but no one was there to even give us water, then the next day the owner came he was rude and instead of apologising he was fighting then the manager not requested but ordered us to move to some other room bcz they wanted to give our room to some other guests who were gonna stay there for 3 nights we tried to refuse but they were talking to us very rudely then as we were not having any option we agreed to shift to another room but the other room was also not available so they told us to keep our luggage in their staff room as if we were staying there for free and the owner even told us you can leave the hotel if you want bcz he knew on weekend we will not be able to get room in any other hotel this whole experience was highly disappointing and they are very ill mannered I will never suggestanyoneto stay in this hotel . The manager and the owner doesn't know how to treat their customers , no customer service and the guy who was mopping the floor and cleaning washroom was seen making breakfast the very next morning i think they should shut their hotel and they are not following any hygiene rules and regulations laid down by the authorities. I know the owner is gonna come back with another rude reply as I have read the way he has been been responding to all other reviews. Good luck ppl . I hope this review might...

We booked 2 rooms for total of 12k. I understand it was a peak season but the blame should be on Agoda I think. They cancelled the room which we booked for low price and increased the same room rate. These rooms were without complementary breakfast. No restaurants are near this stay so anyhow people should pay for it. It's Ra 250 per person + gst which would cost around 275 per person for breakfast. There was no dental kit provided and on request 4 times I was given an EXPIRED toothpaste and if I need a toothbrush which should be provided along with other amenities, they might cost me I think. I was asked to check with the manager. No water was kept in the walkway/corridor. Each and every time, we should call the restaurant and ask for water which they will bring after 2 asks and after 10 min. The tubs and tiles in the bathroom were broken The Tv was not recharged with the settop box. The chairs and swings in the hallway were broken. Serving of breakfast were very slow. They were not able to manage even 10 people at a time during breakfast. This location is 10kms away from the main Ooty City. Once you get in here in the evening, you have to leave the place only in the morning. That kind of location. The tea/ coffee flask which they gave was not even having the proper lids to close. It was so watery for Rs 50 Even if you order the tea/coffee in the restaurant and wait for it for 10 min, you get a cold coffee.

Rooms were neat, view was astonishing. Nothing was enjoyable...
