Rahsun Estate — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

First I would like to thank Mr. Suresh our Host for making it a wonderful trip for us. We travelled from Chennai for a weekend stay. The resort is located about 12km from kodaikkanal lake and it located in remote location amidst forest environment where there is absolute silence, nature lovers would enjoy it. The rooms very clean and neat as it is being maintained by the owners for their personal use too.

We stayed here with kids and inlaws for two nights. We started from Chennai at around 7pm and reached down hill at bathalagundu by 3AM. We halted the car in a motel and slept for a while in d car and again started uphill early in d morning at 5.30am. drive was excellent with mist and drizzle as we travelled in the month of November, Ilayaraja music added charm to d t journey. From a point called "Palani pirivu" we should go downhill which is a small road for about 5km and no much of vehicle movement, but there is no road for about 1km which only big cars or jeep can ride thro, yet we managed in our Maruthi A-star. It was a warm welcome by our care taker Pechiamma and her family who take care of the estate of the owner. She was very humble and had kept our breakfast ready by the time we reached(she cooks excellent non veg dishes, we have to order what we need so that she keeps the provisions in order). By noon we went for a walk around the estate about 40 acre plantation (coffee, amla, pepper etc) a small trekk to the stream nearby. Night we had awesome dinner at the campfire and relaxed till late night at the lawn. Next day we went to Kodaikanal for cycling, horse ride, boating and local attractions. Next day morning we checked out after breakfast.

Anyone who wants to escape the hassles of the daily routine, can get trapped in this wilderness exotic place. It’s a family run delightful accomodation with delicious meals served each time of the day (customised one cant believe yeah!!). The views are enchanting and nearby vegetation/ plantation make us think! Rides are adventurous, walks too in the nearby falls accompanied with beautiful skin cleansing in those magical waters,, would recommend to all folks a must visit place for a beautiful home stay with luxurious amenities and wood-fire cooked food, fire place, outdoor dining etc etc., ...

We stayed with family in summer for 2 nights and 3 days. The resort is far from the main happening places of Kodaikanal, which was good for us as we were looking for peaceful place. The approach road to the hotel is little adventure. The best part of the hotel is the awesome view of the entire range of the hills and a nearby water fall. You will get best sunrise and elephant valley view from anywhere in the resort. Housekeeping is good.Rooms are very clean and served delicious hot meals (Customized).
