Sathya Garden Resort — Hotel in Tamil Nadu

As a retired solo traveler (male) with the goal of riding on all five mountain railways here in India, I am often at a shelter for only overnight, and it is no different here—I’ll be leaving by (04:30) tomorrow to queue for a Nigiri Mountain Railway ticket tomorrow. |When I engaged the tuk-tuk driver to deliver me the 6kms/4mikes here, I became disenchanted with how far it was from the train station and considered canceling so that I could stay closer. |However, upon entry, I immediately knew I had made the correct choice, even if it meant rising early. This is an extremely clean motel, with staff who go out of their way to assist ALL guests. What I really, REALLY, like is having a super nice room on the ground level—no stairs I’d have to GimpWalk up or (worse) down. The hot water can scald, moderate with cold. In fact, because I arrived here much earlier than anticipated, I was able give my few hits of laundry a better soaking/hand washing. The bed is a classic firm, just the way I like it. There is a Western-style toilet, which my knees certainly prefer! WiFi is very strong in the rooms. the in-house restaurant is also very convenient. Being far from the station is a negative, and the only other negative is that the outlets are lacking the receptacle which can accommodate the flat-bladed plugs of North America. Sathya Garden Resort is located at the foot hills of Nilgiri Mountains on the Mettupalayam to Ooty main road.

Its surrounded by green trees, plants, etc. We get clean air, and the place is calm and the environment is amazing.

I have been through this route many times, but this was the first time visiting the hotel, for dining. I will visit again for a stay.

Went around the resort and there are suite and deluxe rooms. The resort area is so huge. Went around the resort. Its clean. The best place to relax. They have huge parking. ... Regarding food, it was really very nice. No seasonings nor ajinomoto. Its purely well cooked food. A home away from home. ... Mini tiffin concept, i heard here only. It was really very nice. Idli, dosai, pongal, poori etc were there. Every item outsmarts the other. .... Restroom are very very clean. There were words engraved like "humans like us clean toilet with their bare hands, so keep it clean". This helps us to keep the rest rooms clean. No bad odour. ... If i say more, it may be exaggerated. You please visit for yourself, and enjoy your stay. You will never regret.

Again visited in 2025, terrific atmosphere. It was really very nice. Very neat....

Pros:

Location: This resort is located in a peaceful spot, surrounded by hills and lush forests. It's just a short drive from the exciting Black Thunder Theme Park and Mettupalayam town.

Facilities: At the resort, you'll find a cozy restaurant, a lovely garden, and a kids' play area. They've even got a spot for campfires where guests can gather in the evenings.

Service: The resort's staff is simply wonderful. They're always ready to go that extra mile to make sure your stay is as comfortable as can be.

Food: To our surprise, the food at the restaurant was actually quite good.

Overall: Sathya Garden Resort is a great choice if you're looking for an affordable and relaxing stay in Mettupalayam. The location is incredibly peaceful, the staff are friendly, and they offer all the basics you'd need.

Cons:

The water heater isn't separate for each bathroom, as they use solar heaters. However, we didn't really have any issues since we always had hot water when needed.
