We stayed @ SLR for 4 days, with kids and elders. The retreat as the name says is an excellent place to relax. It has lot of amenities to choose. ||||You can take a nice morning or evening walk around the property which has slopes and pathways.||Or Sit and relax in the big terrace overlooking the mountains and enjoy the view|| If you love to Jog, have fun and fitness, then take the path from the hotel towards the winding roads down outside the main gate. Jogging up and down the winding roads for few kms will be a nice cardio exercise for those who love to do. All the way you can get serene views of paddy fields, pine trees, mountain view. ||||Location :||Hotel was built at a beautiful vantage spot atop a hill which has 360 degree mountain view. You can sun rise , as well as sun set from the hotel, which is beautiful||||Ambience & Amenities:||Calm, Serene lush green surroundings with mountain view in all directions. This retreat has a Helipad too. It has lift too, which will be a big relief to elders.||Games room with Carrom & Table tennis; Kerala ayurveda massage facilities; Children’s play area; Inner garden with sitting benches with tiled roof huts to relax, have Coffee or tea or food; ||||Outdoor lawn:||Stone dining tables in the open area lawn on the upper side of the hotel for a relaxed meal. This is the perfect place for morning yoga, to get abundant fresh air from the mountains to fill your lungs. This is also a perfect place for outdoor event, functions etc.||||There are couple of banquet halls in the hotel with good seating capacity to conduct functions, wedding, birthdays, conference, meetings and for corporate team outings etc with all required facilities. ||||Rooms:||There are around 60 rooms arranged in two floors, built in a circular design like the Parliament building. Almost all rooms have mountain view. Rooms are clean with chairs, bed & blankets, towels, bath accessories, water heater etc. Has TV which has almost all channels subscribed. This is really good to spend some time on entertainment.||||Staff:||Very polite, friendly and courteous staff at the reception, dining, and other areas. They serve the guests as per the menu choice either to the rooms or at the restaurant. Both the management and the staff are friendly and listen to guests and provides them the required help and assistance.||||Parking :||Vast parking space. Can accommodate buses, vans.||||Sustainability initiatives:||As spoken to the owners of the hotel, they have implemented Zero water wastage. The kitchen and bathroom water is treated thro multi layered natural filters and let to the garden down the slope to grow plants, vegetables and trees.||Huge solar panels are installed on the terrace of the property which is used to power the rooms, water heaters and other areas.||The hotel also installed a wind turbine to generate power from the wind which blows almost regularly. ||These environment friendly initiatives are really to be appreciated, which will preserve and protect the mountains for the future.||||Shopping:||At a place called Solakkadu you can get all varieties of spices, honey, millets, traditional rice, hill banana, mangoes, jackfruit, and other fruits ||||Visiting Spots:||From the hotel these spots are at a close distance View point, Agaya gangai waterfalls, Maasila waterfalls, Arapalli Eswarar temple, Boating point||||Travel:||Climbing starts from few kms from Namakkal and you have to climb and cross may small villages to reach SLR. We heard there are 2 routes. One with around 72 hairpin bends and the other one with less hairpin bends. We choose the second route as suggested by the officer @ the check post.||||There will be many road dividing spots where you will have to choose which way to go. Better to ask some one and confirm the routes. Google maps sometimes don’t work due to poor mobile signal at some places.||||Family enjoyed the stay and we will definitely visit SLR frequently and will also refer to friends. ||||Thanks to Mr & Mrs. Ravindhra for their wonderful hospitality...

Wonderful resort with all amenities and facilities to spend a leisure time in great ways at Kolli Hills. This is my third time, whenever we are made with a whole family and family friend of total 10 members. Given a clear accommodation of three rooms, 1) Four cot room, 2) Three cot room and 3) One cot room along with complementary breakfast. Also has a separate common room for drivers to accommodate. The restaurant is pretty good too. We could observe still the garden area, play area, sitout area are well maintained with lawns surrounding.

Pros: Interior Garden to spend a great time with family and friends. Small game area with TT, Caroom also they do have Shuttlecock, Cricket with wide open play area. Ground floor and second floor where the vehicle can reach directly as well, with a huge parking area. Really well utilised hill structure not much disturbing the nature, maybe during construction they should uprooted trees around. For kids they do have separate play areas with sling, see saw, few Gym related as well. Idle place for a good break from the city environment to endure with nature. Flowers collection in garden is amazing. They do sprinkle water to garden in morning which artificially create a scenic view with mist, surely during season this would be great thing to enjoy.

Cons: Road to reach the hotel needs attention as it's not in good shape, however understand from the hotelier they are in it and will get it ready. Service in restaurants to be improvised, could try to with digital ways of taking order, thus they don't miss order and fasten service based on first come first serve basis. Suggest to restrict in allowing drinks in common places , wherein family and kids hesitate to move around. They do monitor it through staff for safety purposes and also through CCTV, however would suggest some interior place. In room there were few issues, however on reporting it was immediately taken care, appreciate it.

Mr Balu was helpful on check in, as we required some support as went with elders. Thanks to him. Manager Mr Selva Kumar and his team were helpful to support on any...

I visited Kolli hills for the first time in the month of the October 2021. I was travelling with my wife and daughters. I was looking for a decent stay and almost all my friends suggested SLR unanimously. This is not listed in any of the booking sites and booking wasn’t allowed in its own website. I had to contact Mr. Ebi who was very welcoming and gave me booking of my flavour.

The resort is a complete contrast to the untouched hill station where you hardly see people on roads. The resort is on par with the luxurious 3 star hotels in the urban. Cleanliness, spacious rooms, well kept gardens and common areas etc.,

Food in Kolli hills is tricky but if you are at SLR you can sit back and relax. They have great cooks who cooks with love. You name a dish and you get it which is so surprising in such a remote location.

Ambience, you wouldn’t believe if I say the weather favours the resort such that it is always a degree lesser taj the other parts of the ghat. STR Sits on a separate hillock which is scenic and amazing.

Hospitality, every individual in the resort is so kind and welcoming. I met the MD and his family during my stay, who almost met us during every meal and overwhelmed us with their service.

In summary if you think about Kolli, you think about Silver line retreat. Suitable for families, friends, elders and everyone. All the very best to the management team and wish them go miles.

I recently stayed at Silver Line Retreat in Kolli Hills, Tamil Nadu, and my experience was disappointing overall. The hotel charges ₹4600 per night on weekdays, and for a group of three, an additional ₹1680 per night was required for an extra bed, which I found quite expensive for the amenities provided. The room service was subpar. Despite staying for two nights, there was no cleaning done during our stay. Basic bathroom essentials such as shampoo, soap, and towels were not replenished, which reflects poorly on the hotel’s service standards. One of the most frustrating aspects was the complete lack of Wi-Fi and mobile network coverage. In a remote area like Kolli Hills, where connectivity is already limited, the absence of both made it difficult to stay connected or access any services that required internet or communication. The only redeeming feature was the food, which was of good quality. However, even the food was on the expensive side, which added to the overall feeling that the stay was not worth the price we paid. Given the lack of basic services like room cleaning, bathroom essentials, and connectivity, combined with the high prices, I cannot recommend Silver Line Retreat. For the rates they charge, the hotel needs significant improvements in both service and amenities to offer a satisfactory experience.

Wonderful Stay at Silverline Retreat Hotel in Kollihills I recently had the pleasure of staying at Silverline Retreat Hotel in Kollihills, and it was a truly memorable experience. The property is located beautifully on the hills, surrounded by misty landscapes, giving a tranquil escape from the busy city life. What stood out the most was the genuine warmth of the local village people I encountered nearby—innocent and kind, adding a unique charm to the overall experience. The hotel staff was incredibly polite and helpful throughout my stay. Their hospitality made me feel at home, and the traditional food served was absolutely delicious. The flavors were authentic, and it was clear that a lot of care went into preparing these tasty, traditional dishes. The property itself is vast and beautifully maintained. However, the one thing I missed was a swimming pool. Given the size and serenity of the place, a pool would have been a perfect addition for relaxation and unwinding, especially for visitors looking to de-stress from their busy routines. Overall, I had a wonderful time at Silverline Retreat Hotel, and I hope they consider adding a swimming pool soon. It’s a perfect place to relax and chill out amidst nature!
