Our overall experience at Leonia was average—there were some enjoyable aspects, but also several areas that clearly need improvement.
Positives: • Food & Variety: The food was a highlight, offering a wide variety that caters to different tastes. We especially appreciated the Indian, Chinese and western options, which were well-prepared and satisfying. • Staff Service: The staff were responsive and helpful, both in the restaurants and when addressing room issues. For example, our TV wasn’t working and the room was missing a hairdryer on arrival. Both issues were resolved quickly and efficiently. • Activities: There was plenty of fun to be had between the indoor and outdoor games, swimming pool, and the nearby District Gravity adventure park. While the proximity is a big plus, it’s disappointing that Leonia doesn’t offer any discounts or packages in collaboration with District Gravity. A business tie-up could benefit both parties and improve the guest experience.
Negatives: • Room Readiness & Cleanliness: The room seemed unprepared. There was no decorative cloth on the bed, only four water bottles for four guests (ideally there should have been eight), and we were charged at checkout for four additional bottles ordered on the first day, which felt unreasonable. Towels were insufficient, the bed sheets were old and made of rough cotton, and the pillows under the cases were visibly dirty. The room also had not been cleaned properly, especially under the beds. • Infrastructure: The infrastructure is outdated. Safety and maintenance issues stood out—such as a merry-go-round with exposed metal wires (a serious hazard for children), pool tiles that were broken or missing, and a rusty ladder for the slides, which poses a risk of cuts and infections. • Pricing & Transparency: A major disappointment was the price hike. We were given a rate when we first contacted the resort, but when we called to confirm the booking about 20 days later, the price had increased. We were told the earlier offer had expired, though no deadline had ever been communicated to us. This felt unprofessional and misleading.
Conclusion:
While we did have fun overall—thanks to the food, activities, and staff service—the resort falls short of the standards expected from a 5-star property. Significant improvements in infrastructure, cleanliness, communication, and pricing transparency are needed. With some upgrades and better management, Leonia has potential, but currently, it does not deliver a truly...
Read moreLeonia needs to improve service levels a lot. Here are some unpleasant experiences:||1. Reception / service desk response: Reception response is very slow. I also felt that staff behaved without sense of responsibility towards guestes. For Wi-Fi issue, I called reception twice. Reception promised to send someone but no one showed up. On third call after arguing, reception shared another number belonging to technical team. And technical team seemed more interested in knowing how did I get their number. On couple of other occasions also, I found response slow and requiring follow-up.||2. This property is in outskirts, hence we were dependent on property wifi. But network quality is poor. Technicians couldn't resolve after attempting for couple of hours. As a resolution, they provided an alternative network. Also, Wi-fi network provided to guests is not a secured network which is risky in today's world of online hacking.||3. TV Wi-Fi was not working. Technician couldn't fix it. They initially tired dissuading us from using TV Wi-Fi by telling that it's chargble. But I felt that it was cover up for inability of their technical team.||4. Slow Restro service: Ordered pizza on first day. I was informed that it will take 25 minutes. But it was not ready for 50 minutes, so I followed up twice. Each time, I was told that it will take another 15 minutes. I finally asked to cancel the order and that is when it was finally served. Taste was just okayish.||5. In room dining service is slow. Ordered pesto pasta in afternoon on second day. Kitchen initially informed that it will take 20-25 minutes. But food wasn't delivered for 50 minutes, so I enquired. I was told that room service spilled the pasta and more ingredients are not available, hence, they will send white sauce pasta. Food quality and taste of pasta was just okayish.||6. Food prices are expensive but taste is just okayish.||Overall comments: This property is quite large and has good greenery and I think that's the big positive of this property. However, room interiors suggests that it's an old property and can use renovation. It has indoor, outdoor and water activities. Water park slides are old and needs renovation or maintenance. Value for money: it is bit overpriced.||PS: Tea quality and tatse is...
