Came to know about this place through a colleague of mine, even he has not visited by came to know from his friend that the place is good. This is exactly where I committed a blunder, never take a word from person who is not experienced the services. Went as a family of six adults and two kids. With some hotels, you wonder how they get a good rating and have a pathetic service in real; this resort is a classic example. All good in rating but very disappointing in real. For prospective guests to this place, here is the summary/my experince Average room with leaky AC Below average cleanliness in the premises. Had all the food waste piled up behind my room. Average food (Ala carte), Pathetic breakfast (Complementary) Staffs with no clue about their jobs (Front desk and restaurant) Did not get to try the beach activities, as it was shut and this was not informed while booking. The only good thing in my stay was the extra bed which came without me asking for, all the other basic stuff (drinking water/food/ water in toilet) I had to beg and roll on the floor. This for the hotel management, It was struggle from the very first minute in the resort. We as a family came in for a vacation and you people made this into a nightmare. Check in : Came into the resort by 1.30 PM as I was told the check in is 12:00 PM. The front desk people made us wait for an hour to provide us with the rooms. When questioned for the delay, I was told the previous guest did not vacate on time hence the delay. A teashop will have better management than this. I requested for adjacent rooms while booking the same was denied, got rooms in two different floors. The person who took my booking and advance said the room tariff was 7500 but I was charged 9000. Beach activities: The information that the beach activities are cancelled was conveyed after reaching the resort. This should be communicated at the time of booking. There was absolutely no point visiting this place just for the room and food. Power issues: the rooms had partial power until late evening with just a fan running in the room. If you can charge the room tariff in full, I expect the service also to be full. Room service: Ordered for dinner, the food was served partial with few items missing. When called for the missing item, the staff provided the food in a while and double charged for the same. I was asked to pay double and I was interrogated for several minutes and had to fight to get it removed from the bill. In contrary, the restaurant bill had dishes that I never ordered for, again had to fight to prove that we did not order those dishes. Even a motel lodge would have a system when the food is delivered the delivery person gets the signature of the guest in the food bill. I do not know why this so-called star rated resort did not have. Breakfast: the breakfast is included in the room tariff. The Breakfast timing is 08:00 AM to 10: 00 AM. Went by 09:30 AM, there were no idlies, no side dish for poori and there was no tea. When asked the person (Mr.Sachin) sitting outside the hall busy fiddling with his mobile phone, he was like if you come late this is what you get. His attitude was as if we were eating in his money. Sorry Sir you do not belong to this hospitality business. Check-out: When it was time for us leave, the staffs were not really happy to leave us with a smile. Had to go through the bills, line by line as mentioned above there were duplicate charges, charges for the food that we never ordered. In addition, I was never given an invoice, I was quoted an amount and was asked to pay. When I did my math it did not come to that amount, then I was told that taxes are extra. When asked what is the percentage of tax he had no clue. Then suddenly came up with 10% room service charge. I had to hold my head and stand for an hour to put an end to this ordeal. Bottom-line: Will never ever visit this place again and others will recommend not to go rest is your call, taste your own medicine. Reply to Kishore: I never stayed in a Villa, I stayed in two...

A Coastal Culinary Escape Nestled just steps away from the pristine Kovalam shores, Sea La Vie offers a gastronomic retreat where the sea’s rhythm meets an artful celebration of South Indian and coastal flavors. The rooftop dining experience, bathed in fresh ocean air, elevates the senses, while a moonlit dinner by the shoreline—mere meters from the waves—is pure enchantment. The Culinary Experience Chicken Dum Biryani – Weekends bring an indulgence of perfectly layered biryani, where fragrant, long-grained rice absorbs the essence of marinated chicken. Every bite is a delicate balance of spice, smokiness, and tender meat, best enjoyed the traditional way—by hand, letting the flavors fully meld. Chindamani Chicken – A fiery, stir-fried delicacy with caramelized onions and a masterful blend of masalas, offering a bold yet nuanced heat that lingers. Garlic Prawns – A sublime harmony of seared prawns and garlic-infused butter, accentuated by fresh green onions for a pop of sharp contrast. The crustaceans retain a perfect plumpness, soaking up the umami-laden sauce. Prawn Thokku – A soulful Tamil-style prawn dish, slow-cooked to perfection in a rich tomato and tamarind gravy. The sauce clings to the seafood, delivering a deep, tangy complexity. Parai Fish Fry – An exquisite rendition of a coastal classic, featuring freshly caught Parai fish marinated in a secret spice blend, then crisp-fried to a golden perfection. The crisp outer layer yields to soft, flaky meat within, making it a must-try. Squid Fry – Lightly battered squid, deep-fried to a delicate crunch while maintaining a juicy, tender center. Each bite offers an interplay of textures—crispness giving way to the oceanic umami of squid. Dal Tadka & Egg Curry – Humble yet hearty, the dal is rich in smoky, tempered ghee flavors, while the egg curry boasts a luscious, coconut-infused gravy—a comforting contrast to the bold seafood offerings. Chicken Varutha Curry – This slow-cooked curry delivers depth and complexity, with chicken pieces tenderly soaking up the roasted spice mix, resulting in a robust, earthy finish. Fish Fingers – Lightly breaded and fried to a crisp golden hue, these make for a playful, crunchy snack, pairing perfectly with the coastal breeze. Sautéed Butter-Mixed Vegetables – A colorful medley of potato, capsicum, and corn, gently tossed in butter, lending a rich, velvety mouthfeel while preserving the natural freshness of the produce. The Experience Beyond Food Beyond the exquisite cuisine, Sea La Vie offers an immersive experience. The resort boasts a swimming pool (with a separate baby pool), a play area with chess, carrom, and table tennis, and an outdoor basketball court. For adventure seekers, surfing and kayaking rentals are available for ₹1500/hr, with the sea offering safe and inviting waters. The venue also transforms into a picturesque event space, hosting weddings and engagements, with the highlight being moonlit dinners on full moon nights, right by the sea—a mesmerizing spectacle where fine dining meets nature’s grandeur. Kindly work on Wifi, please use repeater as the wifi signal coverage is quiet poor. Sometimes I felt Breakfasts are monotonous.it would be nice to have something different every day or from kitchen. But Breakfast is still nutritious and delicious and could extend till 11.00 am. While the building shows signs of aging, with some areas requiring upkeep, the charm of Sea La Vie lies in its warm hospitality, breathtaking location, and a menu that celebrates the very essence of Kovalam’s culinary soul. Kudos to the Chefs , Manager, House keeping and cleaning team. Great work great place ,Great team driving ,great value

1. When we checked in both villas ac were not working and it took 3 to 4 hrs for tech to come and fix. Still one wasn't fixed night . Hotel gave us one studio extra. Which is fine 2. Fridge in of the villa we stayed were rusted a bit inside and not working. We waited for a while and got that replaced . 3. Ac water were coming inside the balcony in one of our villas. Pipes were left out to flow inside balacony 4. Mosquito issues slightly at night. Since our balcony doors wer not able to closed 5. Swimming pool wasn't properly maintained . Main pool staircase were broken and not even an caution sign mentioned over there. Edges were sharp at some places itseems .Due to that 3 of us got injured. We had bandages. 6. Swimming poll water is not clean and you can't see floor for that they said someone just been there and went. Atleast it was recycling it was good. 7. When we arranged for camp fire . Speaker box didn't work and infact it was not there almost all wood were burned out. They said suprise party team were taken that speaker box.later they arranged one more speaker box again there were setup in for sometime we got camp fire cancelled. Employees said there were lack of employee due to which all gets delayed.Their Gm said they will arrange again free of cost camp fire but our pack winded up so we said no need thanks as it got late for dinner as well as kitchen shuts down at 10pm 8. We got one of our villas after 2 to 3 hrs than the checkin time. Both villas were on cleaning process while we checked in full of phenol smell and floors were wet.but they extended for 2 hrs for checkout. Which is good. 9) Club rooms were like left out without proper maintainence. No ac were working there too and games were old. 10) we checked on noon since our villa wasn't ready we were roaming club house and went to restaurants .. restaurants were completely shutdown chairs were not arranged and even water dispenser were old and no water was there. Only ground floor kitchen is working. We then spoke to kitchen incharge and make things get arranged and ready atleast for the dinner 11) kitchen was messy but I can understand with limited space and workers they trying to push hard. FOOD IS GOOD AND REASONABLE PRICE Which is good and must be appreciated. But you won't get anything you asked for like juices milk etc than their selected timing. We were in a situation to order from swiggy and get milk from nearby shops. 12) one of the room door locks were serviced and not locking at all. Especially bathroom door, balcony doors etc. Main door was difficult to lock 13) We were disappointed that the resort didn't have any play area or the garden space. They do have limited atv 2 for adult and 1 is for kid. both didn't work while we checked in. One they fixed later I believe but didn't come to our room at booked timing instead it came on night and we didn't take it It's surprising that the owner lives in same place not bothered on what's happening on his resort he just enjoys with his atv bike with his friends roaming here and there. I request the owner or property management to talk to its employees and get things fixed. I would strongly recommend the property to take care of maintainence Note : don't expect garden or play area . It's just a villa with beach at back. They do have 2 check in timings I believe so I recommend to choose second slot as things will be ok and ready.

Reply to the owner : it's not copy paste. We dont have to do that . It's genuine review from myself and my cousins. What had happened is happened atleast for the next guests. It shouldn't happen. Check with your reception manager almost 2 or 3 people injured in swimming pool on that day including myself got cut . Accept the truth and just make sure it won't happen again. Our old review haven't got any response from you atleast saying we will correct it. Also old reviews 9 months before I believe. We didn't have any motto to keep saying same things. I clearly mentioned month and year also when we stayed. If all corrected. Well and good. Review for Sea La Vie Beach Resort, Chennai: Stayed around May 2023. Swimming pool maintenance is poor, sharp edges caused cuts and bleeding for guests. ATV bike was initially unavailable due to repairs, ready only after 11 pm, which discouraged us from riding. Food quality was a positive aspect, but orders need to be placed in advance; not a typical restaurant or café setup. Inconvenience with water availability, guests had to chase staff for it. Room check-in delayed by 2 hours beyond the scheduled time. The air conditioning in one of our rooms was also non functional and it took several hours to have it repaired. After repairing also not much cooling. Many facilities such as the games room were not well-maintained. Campfire scheduled late, leading to guest irritation; inadequate lighting at the beach area. Campfire event experienced music issues; music didn't play as expected. Overall dissatisfaction, suggesting considering other resorts with better amenities like lawns and private beaches. Note : The Resort owner resides on site .if he had prioritized focusing on the resort rather than frequently riding the atv with his guests , he could have efficiently resolved the issues. Please consider this as constructive feedback.Engage with your guests to gather their feedback and address the gaps. When issues arise despite paying a substantial amount , it is the responsibility if the management to ensure these problems are rectified, atleast to prevent them from recurring for future guests.
