During my recent travels from Delhi to Patna on Highway NH-2 ( G. T ROAD ), I stumbled upon a hidden gem of a restaurant( BHARDWAJ DARBAR- Near Varanasi located on NH- 2 On side of highway ) that completely exceeded my expectations. This hotel is nicely located on the highway towards Benaras. This is the only positive of it. The representative is a completely uneducated person and lacks common sense on how to welcome or treat guests. We booked online through MMT, and were on an exhausting road trip, and the guy called and demanded 1200 INR more. On arrival I had no choice but to pay it as it was a chilly evening, me and my wife were alone on Benaras highway. When I asked for a receipt, he said I have to pay GST again for another receipt, such an utter stupid statement as I have already have GST receipt. If I don’t agree, then I was asked to call MMT and get refund and get out of hotel. This statement was given at 10 PM at night in the harsh winter. My and my wife were shocked after seeing such behaviour from a hotelier at an unknown place. I have travelled a lot through out India across multiple states as West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Delhi, Goa, and this is my first time in UP, and I must say the journey through this state started with a very poor feeling. I hope that not everyone in this state aren’t the same. There were other issues as well, always check the dinner/lunch bill on your own. There will be mistakes of extra charges, I can’t comment whether those were intentional to cheat customers or not, but stay alert. Other issues in the room were promptly resolved. I will never recommend it to any of my friends/family who travel through this region. Other people can book at their own risk as it is very conveniently located if you are on a road trip and want to have a halt near Benaras.

Visited this place recently and liked the amenities, location and food.
It is situated right on the GT road before Varanasi and hence is a perfect stop to take a break, without entering into the hustle and bustle of Varanasi, before continuing your journey.
The staff is helpful and service is quick. Cleanliness is also taken care of.
However, the best part about my stay was the delicious food. I ordered Kadahi Paneer and observed that the quantity was sumptuous, ingredients were fresh with pleasant aroma.
