Read moreI used Gud Chaha's café. It's the closest thing to a café in the small, quiet village of Chaukori. Bright, with eclectic art and lights, a huge glass facade letting in natural light, it offers hot and cold drinks, including coffee and of course, it's namesake gud chaha. It was off-season, so the eats section of the menu was very petite indeed. The owners volunteered to make a vegetable grilled sandwich for me. It took time coming but was lovely! The gud chaha was anything but. I think the quality of 'gud' was a letdown. The hot chocolate I ordered subsequently just about footed the bill. Nevertheless, the Gud Chaha is a nice, clean place to visit and catch up with oher tourists during the season. New construction across the road has spoilt the views of the valleys and mountains, but it's location on the main drag, let's you walk to a number of small restaurants and dhabas, during Chaukori's short tourist season (April to June, and...
Read moreWhat is the first thing you expect when you visit a place? The way host greets you right! So we were very poorly greeted by the host, and he was unknowingly rude to us. He charged us extra for the food he was not supposed to. Initially he had mentioned everything is in the buffet, later he denied and charged us high. The person in charge of food was nice, he served us a nice afternoon meal. Food was nice as well. Property has lack of staff, single person was handling guests in the cafe and providing hospitality to the people staying, which is obviously difficult to manage. In the name of extra bedding, host provided us with a mat and single layer of mattress which is not appropriate in a cold place. Overall, view and the property is good but when it comes to hosting the people, I would not recommend to visit. One should always hold a smile while...
