Sixteen of us, family and good friends, decided to spend Sunday, 06th April 2025, at CARBERY ACRES, in Kunja Grant, near Herbertpur, Dehradun. The car rides to the venue were enjoyable as the road is pretty good, hardly any traffic, fairly well maintained. En route we stopped for fresh sugar cane juice.
The Manager, Mr Manmohan, greeted us very warmly, with a big smile and his grey-blue eyes twinkling! Some of us plonked down on the comfortable chairs provided while others played Table Tennis, Carroms, etc. Later, the ladies and my granddaughter got into the Splash Pool for over an hour while the men chatted, enjoying the snacks, cold drinks, juice, etc we'd all brought with us.
Lunch was served on time and was pretty good, all homemade items. The Arhar Dal and Rice Kheer were greatly appreciated.
Post lunch, barring a couple of gents who enjoyed a good siesta in the Tree House hut, all of us gleefully availed of the tractor ride that had been arranged for us, which took us through villages, padt the Assan Barrage and back to the resort. Good fun!
Tea and Pakodas were laid out for us and there was lots of it!
We rather reluctantly left Carbery Acres around 5.30 p.m, after quite a few pictures, videos and selfies. My granddaughter wanted to adopt a couple of rabbits but wasn't allowed to do so by her parents! A superb time was had by all and I'm already planning another day outing at Carbery Acres in...
Read moreWe recently had the most wonderful stay at Carbery Acres to celebrate our son’s birthday, and it truly exceeded all our expectations! From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by Mr.Greg, our gracious and thoughtful host, who made us—and our pet dog maya—feel completely at home. The property is not only breathtakingly beautiful but also genuinely pet-friendly, which made the entire experience even more special for our family.
Mr. Greg went above and beyond to make the birthday celebration memorable, even arranging a delicious cake that our son absolutely loved. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made the day feel truly special....One of the highlights was the wonderful dinner at Mr. Greg’s residence, where we enjoyed amazing home-cooked food, engaging conversation, and heartfelt hospitality. It felt like we were visiting an old friend rather than staying at a property.
Mr. Greg also took us on a complimentary tour of the river and his expansive, scenic property, sharing stories and interesting details along the way. He fondly calls his farm “Old McDonald's Farm" with lots of geese, hens, dogs, and a fish pond, which our son found especially delightful!
Carbery Acres is a serene, welcoming haven—perfect for families, pet lovers, and anyone looking for a peaceful retreat in nature. We made unforgettable memories here and are already looking forward to visiting again. Highly...
Read moreWe recently stayed at Carbery Acres near Dehradun for a quick family getaway from Gurgaon (just over 5-hour drive), and it was an absolute delight!
Though it's called a homestay, it truly offers an experiential stay—beautifully maintained by the 4th generation of the family. The staff was incredibly warm and helpful. Meals were a highlight—freshly made rotis on a mitti-ka-chulha and delicious local dishes using produce from their own farm. The property is a nature lover’s paradise with mango orchards, bamboo, pond with fish and geese, chirping birds, rabbits, guinea pigs, and more. Kids loved the splash pool, swings, and badminton court, while we enjoyed peaceful nature walks. The rooms were clean, aesthetic, and varied to suit different needs. There’s truly something for everyone here. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are already planning...
