Elphinstone Himalayan Resort — Hotel in Uttarakhand

Jalna is located on the almora-devidhura road , some 4 hrs from kathgodam , and I was pleasantly surprised with what was on offer , as I went on this route for the first time ! With very few options for comfortable stay in this small hamlet of 25 houses..Elphinstone is the only good one among them ! Fabulous views of the Himalayas , right from the balcony , to a plethora of birds , specially in winters , I saw chaffinch for the first time in 4 years .. this place has everything that a nature lover or a birder seeks ... The property is nicely located , facing the Himalayas , with big , comfortable rooms , excellent staff , special mention to suraj , for his pleasant personality and always at service hospitality ! Food is simple and light on the tummy , which is imp. When traveling in the hills .. all in all , a lovely stay , with all facilities , great location and a lot of birds ... Do visit this part of the world on your next vacation , you will be pleasantly surprised with what's on offer , so close...

We stayed here recently from 15 to 17 june. Though our trip was not so relaxing due to excessive jam on normal route due birthday of neebkarori baba and summer holidays but when we reached this resort we got sone respite with good and prompt hospitality from mr hitesh and his team .|View is nice from the resort and food is quite homely. |Things to improve |A lot of insects enter in the room due to excessive greenary and one large size spider and beetle entered our room to welcome us . infrstructure needs renovation and proper insect sanitation is required.|Bathrooms are spacious but needs improvement.|But good place for relaxation and we hope to visit here again. |Points to learnfrom this trip.|1. We stayed at Elphinstone resort in Jalna for 3 nights and we absolutely loved it! The view from the resort was breathtaking! If you are lucky, you even get a view of snow capped Himalayan range straight from your room! It is a place to just unwind, read a book, walk/trek and sometimes, just do nothing and admire the beauty of nature! The nearest market is 5km away in a place called Lamgarh. The best part about this place is that it's not crowded at all unlike Nainital, which is very commercial. The rooms at Elphinstone resort were clean, nice, cozy and comfortable! And the best part was food!
