The SunGrace hotel is located at a beautiful location, just 2.5 km away from the Mall Road Mussoorie, on the Yamunotri Road, away from the hustle and bustle of the town. We arrived at noon, were served welcome drinks, and were checked into our room. The room was located on the first floor, and you could have a view of the surrounding mountains. It was a Deluxe Himalayan view room (Room-205), and if you are not content with the view, you can just walk to the common balcony and have a grand view. We had a package of 3 nights/4 days in the hotel with a MAP (Modified American Plan) and hence the breakfast and dinner were included in it. The breakfast spread was good, but a special mention goes to the dinner menu. It was not only huge, but lavish!!! We had a special Garhwali dinner on our last night with delicious Garhwali cuisine (along with a small dance by the staff), all thanks to the chef. The hotel has a complimentary pick up and drop service to the Mall Road every day, if you are not having a vehicle with you. But you must return by 9 p.m. or make your own arrangements. Otherwise, there is ample space to park your vehicle inside the hotel. The areas where there is scope for improvement, i) the Wi-Fi is pretty slow and the speed needs to improve a lot. Since I was using a Vodafone sim, and the network is very patchy in this location, I was almost entirely dependent on the Wi-Fi. ii) The restaurant gets pretty hot during noon in the summer months, so I would request the management to install a ceiling/pedestal fan over there. The time spent in the hotel was really special, and all credit goes to the hotel staff who always made us feel at home. They were polite and courteous. A special mention goes to the chef Mr. Amit Singh. He is a pleasure to talk to, who always used to enquire us regarding the food served in the Blue Pine restaurant. Indeed, he is an asset of the hotel. Also, I would like to thank Mr. Devendra Bhandari and Mr. Manoj Negi. On the day of our departure, our train from Dehradun was at 2330 hours. I requested Mr. Negi and the front desk staff to let us stay for a few more hours, as my mother is a senior citizen. They were kind enough to provide us a family room at a nominal charge. In the afternoon, during the month of June, there is a huge traffic snarl on the road in front of our hotel. It takes exactly 2 hours to cross this 2.5 km. Since we were getting late, the staff were kind enough to put us in their car, and get us to the Library Circle, as our cab was unable to reach the hotel in this massive traffic jam. This helped us to take our cab and board the train from Dehradun station in the nick of time. It was indeed a heart touching gesture, and I will remember it for years to come. Last but not the least, a big thanks to all the wonderful staff in this hotel and I would definitely recommend everybody to come and stay here, if you are in Mussoorie. I would love to come back here...

Hotel Sungrace is a beautiful place. It's beautiful because of the hospitality and warmth of people taking care of you.

Kudos to Mr. Prakash and Mr. Manoj Negi at the front desk, assuring that everything was taken care of. A big shout out to Mr. Amit who helped in driving us back n forth to mall road and a big thank you to Ankit at the restaurant for always being warm and gentle in making the delicacies to our taste.

The room was 305 and it was beautifully furnished with the right furniture and space. It has a queen sized bed. Super comfortable and cosy. It has a sofa, writing desk and storage space. The bathroom was sufficiently large for our needs. They also provided with a room heater and kettle for tea/coffee.

Special thank you & gratitude to Mr. Manoj who alongwith Mr. Amit, managed to help me arrange for medicines for my wife at a very crucial stage of our trip. The medical shop was at Mall road almost 2Kms away and despite 8.30pm being their last pick up from mall road to hotel, they didn't hesitate to go beyond their duty and time and arranged for the medicines.

The restaurant has really good chefs and we tried Dal Khichidi, Paneer Starter, Parathas, Biryanis and all the food items are very good. The breakfast spread is large with variety of food items and beverages.

Due to extreme cold weather, we were also given hot water bags to fight the cold and it had helped a lot.

Definitely a worthwhile place to stay, away from the more crowded places at Mall road, with beautiful people and food and mountain views from a sit out are breathtaking.

Totally loved our stay and care given by the team. Would love to come back when the weather is more...

We booked this hotel to rest after completing the Nag Tibba trek. So we were very tired n were looking forward to a nice warm shower n a good night sleep.

  1. the hot water geyser fitted in the room was switched off through a centrally operated switch accessible only to hotel staff even though the switch into which the geyser was plugged into was on.(😳 ) so after a short burst of warm water left over by the previous occupants of the room I had to complete rest of the shower with cold water. Upon calling reception that the geyser wasn't working they informed that they had switched it off centrally n upon our request switched it back on.

  2. we ordered room service at 7 pm specifically ordered food that was less spicy, but it was full of green chili, cut into various shapes n sizes. At 9pm when we were already asleep someone called the intercom to confirm if we wanted to order any food 🙄, I informed them that we had already had dinner n placed the empty plates outside the room to be collected, so that we are not disturbed. 15-20 minutes later when I was trying to sleep again there were multiple door bells at the door, with a hotel staff demanding to get the dinner bill signed, I was too tired to argue with him n sighed it quickly

  3. at checkout besides the dinner bill (which I was made to sign by unceremoniously waking me up) there was another unsigned room service bill for tea that we never ordered. The receptionist spent 10 minutes trying to confirm from other staff if we had ordered the tea. It was only when I shouted at him for the pathetic guest treatment did he let me go The only reason I gave an extra star is because the...

Location is very good with mountains view however it should be more beautiful in (or after) rains and when there is snow. We could see snow capped mountain from terrace. You will find it as shown in pictures. While you choose room you need to understand that you won't get view from all the room however you can ho to terrace to enjoy view. I booked executive deluxe and luckily got corner room with window having view. These rokna are just next to terrace so hou dont need special efforts for view. Other rooms I saw a common balcony for similar view. You get fridge, electric kettle, room heater and even hair dryer (and TV - who cares). Room was spacious. There was corridor with table and chairs for outside sitting. Coming to food, we ordered dinner and it was delicious. Breakfast had good variety and you can enjoy it to the fullest. Staff was nice and service was good. They also provide pick and drop to mall road which helps. The only reason of removing one star to get owners attention on required maintenance. My room had broken flush and it got stuck after pressing it. Soap dispenser was also broken and so dustbin. While room was prepared, toilet wasn't cleaned and shower gel etc were not refilled. This is not expected with a hotel like Sun Grace and it really affects the customer experience. Another important thing is toilet was missing health faucet and it had jet spray which should be upgraded.
