For a perfect place for those who need a break from their busy life and the regular social media madness.... as the network is really not available except for the dining area where the connection is switched on at request. One has to park the car in a nearby market at Chalnicheena and walk down the valley to the resort. Guys from the resort will come up to carry your luggage down to the resort. It a 1.25 kilometer trek down and up so once you reach the resort your won't feel like going up frequently all the way up which is a good thing. Not advised for old people who have issues climbing up. Hiking sticks are provided but one can carry their own as we did for convenience. But a regular trek up is advised as there is a nice old temple which one can visit along with a small village nearby. There is also a down trek to small waterfall which one can visit. The entire walk will take about 3.5 hours which is a good exercise and make you feel hungry. The food is cooked fresh and is very tasty. The staff is very helpful and can fetch snacks/drinks from the village market at request. The resort is in the valley amidst a thick vegetation of beautiful flowers, peach, walnut and pear trees frequented by many species of birds. The resort is an old property converted into an estate with all modern facilities. Spiders and few insects are a common site in the around the room and bathroom but it's not much of a bother if you believe in peaceful coexistence. The famous Jageshwar Dhaam which is a group of ancient shiva temples is just a 30mins drive and should be visited. Overall a very good experience and...
Read moreWe spent the next 4 nights at Itmenaan Estate under the staff’s excellent care led by Bhavna, the hands-on Manager, and Amit Kandpal, in charge of the 3 properties. We were lodged in a beautiful 2 level standalone cottage, with clear views of the Himalayas from our bedroom, a sitting room downstairs & a small courtyard where we enjoyed bonfires on all evenings over conversations, drinks & snacks with another active & enjoyable guest family from Bangalore.|The days were spent in enjoying the estate, gazing at the snow-capped Himalayan peaks all day long, taking moderately difficult mountain treks, village walks, visiting the beautifully located Ramkrishna Kutir in Almora, stopping at abandoned temples, enjoying a lovely picnic with lunch arranged by the property on a hill top with stunning views of the forests and the Himalayas with our new-founded traveller Bangalore friends, enjoying the delicious local & European dinners on 2 evenings served, & time spent in the premises surrounded by forests, vibrant mountain flowers & baby pine trees…not to forget the 7 friendly dogs owned by Bhavna, nudging & pawing you, pleading...

As of October 2020 covid-19 test isn't compulsory for this place.
It is a 20 min downward hike from the road to the place. Car is parked 5 minutes away in the market. There are plenty staff to carry your bags down
There are 5 cottages mostly isolated from each other, with a seperate dining area. The staff laid out meals for us in the sun during breakfast & lunch. We enjoyed evenings with a bonfire, and the staff were happy to assist with ice / snacks etc.
If it gets cold at night they have hot water bottles & heaters. You get hot water 24 x 7 through individual geysers. Provided power doesn't go.
View from the rooms are awesome, very cosy beds and bathrooms. Gets cleaned everyday. Staff isn't around 24 x 7, post dinner you can only contact them in case of emergencies.
We had occupied 2 rooms - Deodhar & pine.
