Right from the start of our adventure to the tranquil JW Marriott Mussoorie, located in the stunningly picturesque mountainous region, we were greeted with exceptional service and hospitality that made our trek from Dehradun airport entirely worthwhile. Nisha at the reception ensured our check-in was seamless, laying the groundwork for the impeccable service that was a constant throughout our visit.
Our room was a masterpiece of luxurious design with comfort at its core. It was elegantly furnished and functional, featuring a luxurious bathtub, an advanced 50-inch smart TV, a fully equipped mini-bar, and a desk that met all our needs. The king-sized bed was perfect for a rejuvenating sleep after adventurous days. The highlight for us, however, was the large balcony with its comfy sofa seating for four, offering a private haven for enjoying serene Mussoorie evenings over coffee.
Although the gym was somewhat limited in equipment diversity, it provided enough for our basic exercise needs, ensuring we stayed on track with our fitness routines. This minor aspect was greatly overshadowed by the fantastic children's play area, which was a dream come true for our toddler. With facilities like a mini-theatre, arts and crafts stations, a Lego zone, and even a carousel, it offered endless fun and creativity, all under the diligent supervision of the staff.
The dining experience at the resort was extraordinary, led by culinary experts, Head Chef Rohit Chadha and Chef de Cuisine Shivan Kashyap. Their dedication and culinary skills shone through in every meal. Chef Chadha's attentive leadership in the kitchen and his effort to cater to our dietary needs made every dining experience special. Chef Kashyap's friendly approach, captivating stories about Mussoorie, and innovative recipes added a unique warmth to our meals. Their special attention to our child’s preferences made meals enchanting and full of lovingly prepared surprises.
The excellence in service was evident beyond the kitchen. Shivam, our dedicated server, consistently welcomed us with warmth, eager to recommend and enrich our meal times with his insights. His suggestion to visit JW Marriott Kolkata reflects the Marriott brand’s commitment to guest satisfaction across their establishments.
We are also grateful to chefs Sunil, Suneel, and Manmeet of the F&B team, whose meticulousness and attentive service perfected our dining experience. The housekeeping staff merits praise for their flawless service, keeping our room spotless and comfortable, with their considerate turn-down service enhancing our nights.
Discovering the resort was an adventure, from nostalgic rides in the classic electric car to exploring the lush nursery filled with various plants and herbs. The diverse outdoor play areas, including a cricket field and other activities, meant entertainment was always at hand.
The daily high tea, accompanied by live guitar melodies against the scenic backdrop, became a treasured ritual, allowing us to soak in Mussoorie's peaceful beauty while relishing fine delicacies.
In summary, our visit to JW Marriott Mussoorie was a memorable immersion into a realm where opulence blends with nature, culinary artistry, and genuine hospitality. This establishment is more than just a hotel; it’s a destination that offers and fulfills promises of joy, relaxation, and culinary delight. We departed with treasured memories and new friendships, looking forward to our next visit to JW...

The Good:
Location, The View from every corner of the Property, the Property and its amenities (which Resort or Hotel you can think of has a Bowling alley !! Well this does), Interaction with 3 brilliant team members Miss Vandana and Mr. Keshav from Front Desk (hes a true Gem and a Loyalist to Jw Marriott, Mussoorie, give you a nuanced watch about him, the evening we checked in, post dinner when me and my better half were calmly seated in the lobby, there was another family of @ 8 of all age groups playing Uno, kesahv kept visting them with a smile, offered for water, drinks to make them cosy, and all with a smile, and panache) and shivam in the Jw cafe, The Amazing Private Dining at Westeria Deck and its entire team there who make the experience unforgetfull like you cannot imagine, this is one experience which cannot be missed from the superbly well trained staff who understand with your body language and a probable gesture as to what you might need, while giving you privacy and being almost ingonito (a staff so well trained is something i have only experienced at the now cease to exist The Zodica Grill at Taj Mumbai) The high tea which is termed as
Rest All is Bad and it didn't need to be It:
What is that we look for in a Super expensive, Elusive, Exclusive, resort/retreat that too coming from a Brand like Marriott and more so when it is categorized as Jw Marriott, the whole game changes a notch above right …
Super Warm reception from the front desk staff doing so with smile and gratitude for the trust the guest has placed by booking the said resort while checking in, that helps you completely Refresh from the long tiring journey just with a smile and warmth as the first impression is the last. Also there can be no discrimination between you and any other guest in this regards, every guest no matter what the occasion should feel exclusive and privileged A detailed know how of the property and its amenities in the minutest possible way, so you know the amazing facilities you would otherwise miss and regret, a pamphlet in a room is easily missed where as an explanation or a property tour is a must given the scale of the property and its amenities which should be proudly showcased Unambiguous and unequivocal coordination between all departments in the hotel (front desk, the restaurant, the activities team etc) and staff has to be cordial more so that its a super niche and super expensive resort and even more so if there is a Special Event or Special celebration mentioned to the reservation Team much much in advance giving them a heads up as to how amazing they can make the occasion speical for you Clarity in charges Quality and the Upkeep of the Rooms, Facilities etc last but not the least the Guest Just Has to be Made to feel super Special and Privileged that he would want to come back again and cover all nuances the next time, in short have a Repeat value and plan the next visit even before leaving the property, and advocate the property to other fellow travelers as a brand Ambassador to the hotel, more then anyting leave happy with amazing memories.
Not one but all above points mentioned as desirable out of a premium property came crashing down to an almost hopeless stay, which forced us to stay more outside the property and come only to sleep.
Team Jw Marriott, Mussoori should really start working on above points and regain the 2...
Read moreThe team at the property hardly understand the importance of good service. They kept troubling us with delayed service and stupid mistakes while we were two couples with our 9 month old babies. I would never ever return to this property and would urge people to check for other better options before diving into this one. Even after giving repeated instructions on certain things, they will screw it up and give you bad shocks during your stay and spoil the entire experience for the family. We booked our airport pick up and drop with the concierge before the trip but to our surprise - airport drop wasn’t ”confirmed” by them. The only way to confirm is to call them 20 times again and again and then they will confirm. Call for a mashed banana for a baby and they will take 40 mins to say “oh I will get it right away”. We mashed it ourselves later. Book a valley view suite and you’ll get a room which doesn’t let you see the valley from ANY angle. Fight with them and then they will say okay let us try and shift you tomorrow to a better room. Book a cab with conceirge for local travel. Go to the lobby at the confirmed time to find out that no one has called for a cab. Wait for 30 more mins coz someone did not understand the instructions well. Tell the team clearly to not call on the room phone (and give your mobile number as the primary POC) since the baby is sleeping. Result: get 3 calls back to back so that the baby wakes up and becomes restless due to troubled sleep. Book 2 rooms next to each other- one for a couple and second one for the kid + nanny to have enough room for the baby to play. Confirmed on call while booking. Only to find that the rooms will have 3 more rooms between them. 👏🏻 I might need a few more days to put everything here about the food service. It gives you an experience of the entire spectrum possible with quality on one side (which is good) and the service on the other side (which is insanely bad). Call for a dosa and you’ll be served with a paratha. Call for a toast and you’ll get a fruit platter. Call for a juice and you might not get anything that day. Imagine this happening with multiple folks at the same time. The staff is just not trained to manage even 2 tables at the same time. And they have atleast 20-30 tables at the cafe. We ask the team to book for a thali experience at 8pm for lunch next day only to get a call at 11:30pm in the room again asking whether we want to have lunch or dinner! You bring up the issues with their director of operations only to get even more terrible issues at the cafe the next day. And she stands right there without doing anything or instructing anyone about improvement. And last but not the least, it does not give the value for the money you pay. Marriott definitely doesn’t understand luxury stays. Oberoi/Taj/ITC/W definitely does much better.
I would never ever visit this property again and would recommend to go for ITC or W/West In (either of the two has...
