Kanatal Heights — Hotel in Uttarakhand

I stayed at Kanatal Heights recently and the experience was quite mixed.

Cons:

Rooms and bathrooms were not clean, with spiders, insects, and a lot of mosquitoes that made it hard to sleep.

Bedsheets and linen were not washed or changed, adding to the discomfort.

No towels or proper amenities provided.

Location is actually 8 km inside from the main road, but Google Maps shows it right by the road – very misleading.

Property is new but poorly maintained, and indoor pictures online are more “Instagrammable” than reality.

Advertised as a 4BHK villa, but only 3 rooms were proper. The 4th was a small rooftop room without a bed, fit for just one person.

Cabin-style rooms mean you can hear everything happening around and above you.

Advance booking was intimidating, as the owners demanded ₹2000 non-refundable, even though the register showed no booking for the past 10 days.

Pros:

The caretaker, Jaspal, was extremely helpful and even fetched items for us from the market.

The chef served simple, homely, and tasty food.

Scenic views from the villa, though there are better options nearby with improved amenities.

Cool & peaceful place to stay for alone or bechlors group,not a professional hotel. This place is not suitable for kids due to its location at bumpy & rough hill surface. Food is average without much options & not served in rooms. This place is just a group of rooms which are made of iron & glass; just closed blocks with no options of air passing. Staff facilities bonfire at night along with good snacks n then with food where you can enjoy in dark night along with friends & stars in sky. Adventure activities & coffee shop are there nearby this place at your cost. Choose this place if it cost around 1200 for room otherwise you found it costly. I had a terrible experience with this hotel. The actual condition of the hotel was not same as shared photographs. The owner took ₹10,000 before booking and assured me that if I didn't like the hotel, he would return the amount. However, when we arrived, the hotel did not meet our expectations at all. When I requested to cancel the booking, the owner refused to return the amount, and cut the call, and said, "Complain wherever you want; I won't return your money."
