If you have no other option only then select this place. Otherwise there are other places to stay in Kasauni. We had our booking at KMVN Binsar but due to forest fire they were not operating and so they shifted our booking to Kasauni. We had to wait for more than half an hour to get our rooms. The booking we had done at Binsar was of 4500/- per night. When they shifted our booking to Kasauni, the room price was 4000/- per cottage per night. Booking was of 2 days so we had to bear the loss of 1000/- even though it was KMVNL's fault. They informed an evening before our travel, that they are not allowing tourists at Binsar. So, on giving us the option, we allowed them to move our booking to Kasauni. When we reached, the guy at the help desk had no clue. He called several places, I showed him sms conversation, we waited for half an hour to 40 minutes and at last they assigned us the cottage. We stayed here for two days. At the time of exit we were again asked to show receipt of Binsar's booking and had to narrate the whole story. It was frustrating.
Pros -
Location is good. If the sky is clear you can get a beautiful view of snow capped mountains.
You can see beautiful flowers around the property.
Food is decent.
Cons -
The quality of the rooms are poor. Plaster from the walls are peeling off, the bed is not at all comfortable.
The stopper of the main door is broken. It stuck every time you enter or exit. It doesn't shut on its own, once left open. In the morning a gang of monkeys arrive. So by any chance you want to run away from them and get back to your cottage, you'll probably welcome the monkeys inside your cottage.
Privacy Issue - windows are transparent and curtains are short so any one passing by can peek through it; people outside can hear your conversation even if all the doors and windows are closed.
Complimentary breakfast isn't...
Comfortable stay at KMVN Trishul
Stayed in a Super Deluxe Cottage which was very specious from inside as well as from outside. Rooms and bathroom were very clean and spotless. The quietness, the greenery, the peace and the wide-ranged view of snow-capped mountain during sunrise or sunset from the cottage were awesome. Breakfast was included into the tariff itself and it was a buffet one with varieties of items. Food which we had was damn testy and hygienic. Staffs were very helpful and service was perfect even though cottages are located in a quite climbing distance from kitchen or reception area. Will definitely stay here again while visiting this area in future, and would like to recommend this to others.
Rudradhari Waterfall and Cave, Anashakti Ashram, Tea Garden can be visited in a single day from TRH Kousani. Rudradhari Waterfall and Cave has a trek route of 2 KM inside thickly infested forest with hilly path and over the water stream of Rudradhari waterfall. There is a small but beautiful temple inside the cave which is supposedly 2000 years old. There is another place to visit called Pinnath temple. Pinnath temple is situated at the hill top of 2750m height (approx 9000ft) and can be started its 5KM trekking from the starting point of Rudradhari Waterfall trek. This sacred HINDU shrine is dedicated to Bhairon and worshiped by the locals. Apart from the temple, scenic beauty of Pinnath Top is also spectacular.
You can also plan for Baijnath Temple and Bagnath Temple (also Confluence of Sarayu and Gomati Rivers) which are 17KM and 38KM in distance respectively from Kausani.
Tips: Super Deluxe Cottages (1 or 2) are very nice and cost effective. You can go for spectacular view from Executive Cottages without any...
Read moreGang of cheaters and unprofessional people in operation.. Hotel staff, amenities and all services are poorest of poor. No staff, specially front desk and restaurant manager have no professionalism, no curtsey, don't want to provide any service or comfort to anyone. Food is served only at given fixed time, provided you have placed order 2-3 hours prior to that, and served within restaurant only. No room service at all.
Room service is so pathetic, quite tough to get even drinking water or glasses changed in room. I have been there 3-4 times, and experienced amenities and services degraded over last few years. You can't get clean towels, I kept asking for two days without any luck.
In addition, the hotel staff has no shame in over charging by presenting false food bills. Seems like restaurant manager, front desk and other staff, all are so coluded. At the time of checkout, I have highlighted 4-5 mistakes in food bills, but they silently refused to correct bills.
No shame, no apology, no curtsey whatsoever!!
One stars only for location.. DON'T TRY if you have any other option...
