Neelkanth Retreat — Hotel in Uttarakhand

It was one of the worst experiences as of today for me. Apart from location, everything else was worst, and the host and his team were not at all interested in improving their services.

Do not get trapped in their reviews like us. I don't know how they achieved good ratings in google as their services are very poor and don't deserve even 2 stars.

Pros: Location: It is a hidden location, little away(300-500 mtrs) from the main road, but they will provide you with the gypsy service to take you up from the main road. Not suggested for the old age above 60.

Cons: Rooms: The rooms were not good at all. Very much basic rooms without basic amenities like Net in Windows and door to keep away insects and mosquitoes, toiletries, and many others.

Food: The food served is too bad, unhygienic, and not eatable at all. Their kitchen was a complete mess. We tried many items, but nothing came out good from that kitchen.

Staff: The staff was kind of rude, not supportive at all. They were not accepting even minor things like uncleaned utensils, washroom cleaning, and other very basic things.

Location: It was also their pros, but with all the above poor service, it becomes a cons. As once you are at this property, you can't even think of going out for food or any other thing as it's not easily manageable to go down and then come back.

I visited the property with my family the worst experience i ever had.the manager told that we have to walk for 250 meters but he didnt tell that it is going to be sharp walk up. The road is made of only big stones. The food is worst me and my dad got food posining after eating there food. Whole night we both were vomiting. You cant go there if you have elders as the walk is way to sharo and high. I had booked 2 rooms for 2 days when we were walking up we told their worker that we will check out next day as once we go up my parents will not be able to come down again and it will ruin our trip they didnt inform the manager and when i spoke to the manager he asked us to pay whole amount for 2 days we requested him for half an hour as my parents were not able to breath also they dont have any medical facility the manager was rude and after that my dad who is almost 20 years elder than the manager requested he said he will leave charge for 1 days for 1 room but we still paid extra for 1 room. The location is one of the best parts about the property. It is nestled away from the main Mukteshwar village, and 5-6kms away from the Kasiyalekh village. You can have a valley view from your rooms which is breathtaking with the sunset. It is secluded and away from noise and light pollution. We stumbled upon this property while exploring on our backpacking trip!

The hospitality is immeasurable! Jeewan and Mohan bhaiya took care of us like their own houseguests and ensured that we had no trouble of any kind. They were great conversationists and very humble and hospitable. Their cooking is out this world!!! Homecooked, organic, warm and wholesome food was served by them and we were so grateful!
