This is my 8th time in Rishikesh and first with such poor hospitality and service. Management has excuse for everything and same pattern I've seen in other genuine negative reviews of month earlier than my visit. My Visit on 31st Dec, 2022. Pros: Good location as you would expect from any other campsite in Rishikesh. Cleanliness. Not sure about pool as it seemed closed due to extreme winter.
Cons: Poor service and management : the price Rockland is charging saying it's new year time and do the pre-booking, then they should have pre-planned for staff and services for that night. Any request made (even for water) was completed in more than 1.30 hour. When complained about slow service, they gave excuse that staff was not sufficient for the guests and everyone was making request. If we've booked a resort/camp/hotel, then we would expect service and we'll make request. This shows poor planning and poor management, who are not ready to take ownership of shortcomings on their end.
They could claim that they are charging lesser than similar resorts, but it's because of their location and distance from ramjhula. This camp is at far end.
No prior information about other charges: No normal Drinking water, you have to pay for each bottle of water which we got to know at the time of check-out. When we questioned that we only requested normal water and not packaged, they said they only provide packaged water and they don't have normal drinking water. I'm not sure how the people working there drink water. Also, each bisleri bottle would cost you INR 30 while the MRP is 20. They claimed that they brought it to such height so they charge extra. Well, I'm a resident of much greater height than this(ranikhet) and the cost is 20 only everywhere. I've also been to numerous camps at much greater heights than this and everyone has drinking water free of cost apart from packaged water.
Route to Rockland: road after bridge is bad for about 30 minutes and no parking facility. You've to park at corners of the road with no safety. Steep climb on stairs, so those wishing for camp nearby to road or where you won't have to walk much, avoid Rockland resorts.
Frequent electricity cut, when we arrived the flush was not working. Next morning when needed hot water since normal bathroom water would be icy cold 🥶 (1st Jan), there was no electricity.
I've also seen reviews of this resort and most of them seem to be from their friends/people related to resorts and multiple times by same people (jaat jatni is an example). Those with genuine reviews or complaint have received very bad response from Rockland owner/management in comments.
I would suggest everyone to check the negative reviews...
Read moreMy utter disappointment and frustration regarding my recent stay at your resort. My family and I had booked a stay at your establishment, with hopes of enjoying a relaxing vacation, but unfortunately, our experience turned out to be a nightmare.
Firstly, the lack of communication and accountability from the owners, Vishal and Narendra, was appalling. Despite assurances from Vishal that our concerns would be addressed promptly, it became evident that no action was taken to resolve the issues we encountered. To make matters worse, Narendra's contact number was unreachable for the entire duration of our stay, leaving us feeling abandoned and helpless.
The condition of the resort itself was deplorable. The food provided was of the lowest quality, barely edible, and far from the standards one would expect from a reputable establishment. Additionally, the absence of air conditioning made our stay extremely uncomfortable, especially considering the sweltering heat. The overall hygiene of the resort was subpar, with unclean facilities and a complete disregard for sanitation practices. The state of the bathroom facilities was particularly distressing, resembling conditions worse than those found in public restrooms.
As a result of these unacceptable conditions, my family and I were left with no choice but to vacate the premises prematurely, despite the inconvenience and distress it caused, particularly to our...
Read moreThe location is very secluded and the drive is adventurous like driving on a rough terrain without any human intervention with concrete. You can find multiple camps on the way to Rockland. And there is not much visual difference in all the camps except for the name. It has a swimming pool which acts as a magnet for families with kids. A small lawn in the heart of this place is also suitable for sports, mini football or badminton. The tents are well spaced, and each had its own bathroom. It provides double, triple and quadruple sharing of tents. The timing is 12pm to 10am. It provides lunch, snacks, dinner and breakfast as well. The best part is the DJ night which everyone will enjoy. It is located on a hill and also there is a river route beneath the hill. We trekked down the hill to the river and it was interesting. Although it was hardly a trekking and will be adventurous for first timers. The room service was slow due to less number of staff there. The bathroom was not equipped with basic amenities like hand wash and soap. The room also didn't have a jug of water. We needed to remind them of the things that were needed in the room, even the basic one. But overall I can say it was a...
