I recently visited to Chopta and had an amazing stay at this place. It was an wonderful experience as it was my first time in the mountains. I must say the Bunker House Cafe and Stay is a very beautiful, calm and cozy place located in Kedarnath Wildlife Sanctuary area with forest on one side and valley on another. It gives very peaceful and serene vibes and offers majestic views of mountains from its balcony and sitting area. Interiors are very beautiful, state-of-the-art kind. Owners are very kind and welcoming. Staff is polite and quick in service. Place is run completely on green energy. Yes, hot water is also available in bathrooms which comes from Solar geysers which in time may get affected due to bad weather. But if you a morning person you can enjoy a hot water bath ๐Ÿ˜‰. Food is delicious and we also got warm drinking water to fill our bottles for the trek. We also had Christmas Eve celebration with cake cutting and live music event! Music lovers will enjoy here a lot. Things to keep in mind: Life is difficult in the mountains, one should not keep high expectations for all the facilities that are available on plains. We should respect the nature and be mindful of our behaviours towards the locals as they are very simple and hardworking people. 24*7 electricity will not be available here as there are no supply towers. Use water judiciously, do not litter, do not leave plastic waste behind. Do not party hard or play loud music. Learn their ways. Best thing is inspite of all the challenges, owners of Bunker House will make you feel at home. Their warm hospitality just made my trip memorable.๐Ÿ˜Š Would highly recommend๐Ÿ‘ this place to anyone visiting Chopta with friends, family or solo for the first time to make their stay memorable. All the best to Sparsh and Sukriti and their family plus all the hardworking staff for putting their efforts to make our stay comfortable! Thank you โค๏ธ Note to the travellers - Please do not expect too much as you are visiting a sanctuary area, do not leave behind garbage, carry back everything you bring ( plastic, wrappers) as this is a forest area. I am regretting that we forgot our garbage and I am really feeling sorry for this. Apologies ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿ˜ž Will be more careful next time!

With my cousins, I frequently visit this location for dinner or lunch from Ukhimath to this cafe. The cafe has a nice atmosphere inside. White sauce pasta is a favourite of mine here. I enjoy the musical selection being played on that JBL. Without a doubt, it is Chopta Road's top cafe. We regularly engage in a game of indoor table football. We also love the outdoor swing. I once had the chance to speak with the cafe's proprietor. He strikes me as a warm, amiable adult. But I want to let him know that during my last two visits, I didn't like seeing hair in my food. The taste of tea is irregular. The toilet was not at all to my taste. My sister is forced to use a bathroom in such a famous cafe that is completely broken. It is impossible to lock from the inside. Light is nonexistent. It is also filthy. Gentlemen are capable, but what about women? And please, the fake greenery/plants inside the cafe are not so impressive either. Try implementing more eco-friendly ideas. In any case, I'll return in the hopes of finding food minus hair and having my white sauce pasta while listening to melodious Bollywood tunes at a bit lower volume. In light of my whole experience, I was going to give a 2-star rating, but instead, I'm giving a 3-star rating because the cafe's elderly owners were so gracious in granting my request to play my favourite song on your JBL speaker this one time. Cheers!

What a find this was after days of just Paranthas, Roties & Dal! Just off the NH 107A, when we were least expecting, we chanced upon this very hippy, trippy eatery with an ambience that was so contrasting to everything in that region of the world. Run by a couple, this place is a breath of fresh air if you are craving for a change from the Pahadi lifestyle for a short while. Brick walls, Gaddhies and bolsters on the floor, large backlit signage, pinewood furniture, young crowd, board games, filament exposed bulbs, powered by solar, dimly lighting the space and the icing on the cake... wait for it... 2 dogs lazing on their slumber bags, absolutely oblivious to all the loud music and chatter. The food was surprisingly authentic and good. I say surprising as we were in the mountains and it was only but natural for me to not get my hopes too high about the authenticity of the taste of a burger or a pasta dish, but they truly surprised us. The double decker burger, the white sauce pasta, the fried momos, all of these tasted quite authentic, fresh and yummmo!!! Towards the end, we downed all these with hot chocolate and a mango shake which could've been better. Footwear area and the hand wash were a bit inconvenient in terms of their size & location respectively and the music was not to my taste, but none of these were a deal-breaker for me. I would highly recommend this place.

I recently had the unfortunate experience of staying at the Bunker House in Chopta, and I feel compelled to share my dreadful encounter, which deserves no more than a one-star review.

To begin with, the owners of this establishment displayed shockingly rude and disrespectful behavior throughout my stay. Their unfriendly and dismissive attitude was evident from the moment I arrived, and it was abundantly clear that they couldn't care less about their guests' comfort or satisfaction.

What truly escalated this nightmare was an incident involving one of the owners named Sparsh. When I dared to voice my dissatisfaction with the terrible service and their appalling behavior, He resorted to physical assault. Yes, you read that correctly. He physically assaulted me, a paying guest, simply for expressing my grievances. Such behavior is not only unacceptable but also illegal, leaving me feeling violated and unsafe.

Adding to this already distressing situation was the presence of a rottweiler on the premises. While I love dogs myself, rottweilers terrify me, and this particular dog was allowed to roam freely in the dining area, causing fear and discomfort among the guests. Despite numerous complaints and concerns expressed by guests, the owners were shockingly reluctant to put the dog on a leash or take any measures to ensure the safety and comfort of their patrons.

Furthermore, the hotel failed to provide even basic necessities like towels and bathing soap in the rooms. When I requested these essentials, the owner provided them very reluctantly, as if it were an inconvenience to cater to their guests' basic needs.

To make matters worse, one of my friends discovered an insect in his breakfast, and the management's response was nothing short of apathetic. They showed little concern for the hygiene of their food and seemed indifferent to the distress it caused.

In addition to all these unsettling experiences, there was another deeply concerning incident during my stay. I witnessed Sparsh, one of the owners, behaving inappropriately with a female guest right in front of me. His demeanor was disrespectful and offensive, and it left both the female guest and myself deeply uncomfortable and appalled by his behavior.

In summary, my stay at the Bunker House in Chopta was an absolute nightmare. Rude owners, poor service, physical assault by one of the owners, a menacing rottweiler, a lack of basic amenities, and indifference to food hygiene combined to create an atmosphere of fear, discomfort, and disappointment. I strongly advise anyone considering this place to think twice and explore other options in the area where your safety, well-being, and peace of mind are taken seriously. This establishment is an experience I wouldn't wish upon anyone.

Update: As you can clearly see in the response. The owner gets irritated with any kind of negative feedback. Here he has resorted to levelling false and baseless allegations. He feels that any guest who calls out their flaws is Illiterate and he is the only literate person...

My experience at this hostel was nothing short of a nightmare. To begin with, I have a fear of dogs, and from the moment I arrived, two large dogs (Rottweiler) were freely roaming around the cafe. I politely approached the owner and his mother, repeatedly requesting that they put the dogs on a leash or find some solution, as I was genuinely afraid for my safety.

However, their response was shockingly callous. They simply brushed off my concerns, saying, "Yeh pet-friendly place hai, padhkar aana tha na. Hum kuch nahi kar sakte." (This is a pet-friendly place, you should have read that before coming. We can't do anything.) This response was not only dismissive but also demonstrated a complete lack of empathy for my fear and discomfort.

To add to this nightmare, the owner, Sparsh, was rude throughout my stay. What's even more alarming is that Sparsh was involved in a physical altercation with one of my team members, which is completely unacceptable and should never happen in any establishment. The hostile attitude, coupled with the dog situation and the physical abuse, made my stay at this hostel a dreadful experience that I would never want to relive.

I would strongly advise anyone with similar concerns about dogs or looking for a hospitable and safe environment to stay far away from this place. One star is too generous for an establishment that prioritizes pets over the safety and comfort of its guests and allows such disturbing incidents to occur. Moreover as you can see in the reply below- it's concerning that the owner, has continued to deny his mistakes and has even resorted to making false accusations (no female team member was part of this argument hence, no one was rude to any female or any staff). As I was sitting there and one of the member next to me said something about his attitude issues during our stay, he created a scene by saying, 'Tu nikal jaa (to the team mate) me maalik hu yha ka yh meri property h.โ€™ This behaviour is completely unprofessional and only adds to the overall...
