I recently retired after 36 years of Government service and to make my retirement day memorable my daughter and son-in- law flew from New York to be with us. All four of us (my husband, I , son-in-law and daughter) wanted to spend some quality time together as they had 4-5 days' leave because of the July 4th weekend being a long weekend in the USA. Even after mammoth discussions on where to go, we were not able to reach to a consensus. And then last minute decided to go to Jim Corbett reluctantly as we were sure that there will not be any chance of visiting the National Park in this season and that we will be bored inside the hotel/ resort. But NO... we were wrong and our stay at Welcome Hotel Jim Corbett was nothing short of enchanting, nestled amidst the serene landscapes of Jim Corbett National Park. The resort’s location, perched on the edge of wilderness yet easily accessible, offered a perfect blend of tranquility and convenience.||Location and Atmosphere:|Surrounded by dense foliage and the soothing melody of the Kosi River nearby, Welcome Hotel Jim Corbett exudes a calming ambiance. The sight of misty hills in the distance and the lush greenery right outside my window made every moment feel like a retreat into nature’s embrace.||The terrace outside the Restaurant is "the place" to spend the evening watching thick clouds walking from one side to the other side of the hills.||Accommodation:|I stayed in a beautifully appointed room that combined modern comforts with a touch of rustic charm. The interiors were tastefully decorated, with thoughtful details that enhanced the sense of relaxation and luxury. Waking up to the sight of sunlit trees and the distant chirping of birds was a refreshing start to each day.||Dining Experience:||I can bet on the food experience here for anything. The culinary offerings at Welcome Hotel were a delightful journey through local flavors and international cuisines. My daughter and son-in-law were here from New York and we being from the Kumaon region wanted them to taste the authentic Pahadi Khana and what a wonderful Kumaon meal was served. Chef Pan Singh made special arrangements for us to give a true dining experience. Chef Manoj Kumar ensured that whatever we were willing to have, is being served. We savored every meal, from hearty breakfasts overlooking the gardens to dinners infused with aromatic spices of Kumaon. Each dish was a testament to the chef's skill and the freshness of ingredients sourced locally.||Since we could not go for any activity outside so our entire focus was on having food, food and more food. And the chefs did not disappoint us. The staff there specially, Diwas, Jaya, Bhavna, Hemant, Gaurav, Rishabh were so sweet and a warm smile was always on their faces. The dining experience was truly overwhelming.||Activities and Exploration:|We had to miss the beautiful and adventurous experience of exploring Jim Corbett National Park as all the gates were closed because of rains. |The resort organizes safaris and bird watching and also temple treks, but rains stopped us from venturing out. But we could enjoy the documentary on Jim Corbett's life, which they show daily.|||Service and Hospitality:|The team at Welcome Hotel Jim Corbett left a lasting impression with their warm hospitality and attention to detail. From the moment we arrived, they made us feel welcomed and valued as a guest. The staff went out of their way to ensure every request was met promptly and with a smile, making our stay truly memorable.||Usually we have to make complaints, but here it was totally different. I was startled when one of the House Keeping person came to ask me if we would like to change our rooms as he has observed some leakage near the washbasin. This wasn't bothering us at all so we remained in the same rooms. And to our surprise, when we returned from our day outing, the Front Office staff also checked with us regarding the same issue. I haven't experienced such attention anywhere else in my stays in India and abroad. Kudos to the team and the management.|||Facilities and Relaxation:|The resort’s facilities, including a well-equipped fitness center and a serene spa offering traditional treatments, provided ample opportunities for relaxation and rejuvenation. The swimming pool surrounded by lush gardens offered a refreshing retreat after a day of exploration.||Our Spa and massage experience was calming and rejuvenating. Special thanks to Mimi and Becky for this marvellous experience. | ||Overall Experience:|Our time at #Welcome Hotel #JimCorbett was a rejuvenating blend of luxury and nature. Whether lounging by the poolside, or simply soaking in the tranquility of the surroundings, every moment was filled with a sense of peace and joy. It’s a destination that I would eagerly return to, seeking to reconnect with nature and indulge in the comforts of a truly...
Read moreHere is my review.. first of all it is not at all in jim corbett it is atleast a 90 minutes drive from the jim corbett The approach road to the hotel is very pathetic and narrow it is very risky to reach there when we reached the hotel even after making all the payments and gave each and every detail of the driver, he wasn’t attend for atleast an hour or so. He kept waiting at the entrance and they didn’t even bother to call him regardless i mentioned that please watch for him and make sure he know where he have to sit eat and sleep. He called us and then after calling 2 times at the hotel they attended him our checkin was smooth no issues with that they offered a welcome drink and traditional pahadi cap and shawl it was a nice gesture. after getting in the room when we asked them if they have any meal plans or so. They said they will call us back and will tell us about it . No body called back we called them atleast 4-5 times to ask the same but they kept saying the same and then after the last call we made they called us and told the plans. no doubt the rooom was beautiful and also the view from the room was also beautiful proper cleanliness and everything was maintained at the hotel so so poor food quality. We do expect a good quality food when it comes to the brand name of itc hotels and also when there is nothing around the hotel as an option b. The food quality was so so pathetic we got constipation and an upset stomach. The breakfast next day also was not worth it and the food was cold and very few options were there to choose from as we got affected by bad food quality and asked for the medicine for an upset stomach they told us that medical kit is in some other rooom and they will sent us the kit once they will get back it from there. But even after calling multiple times we didn’t got any medical kit whatsoever so the medical assistance was also very poor the property is indeed beautiful with breathtaking views but u cannot enjoy with such an experience again the checkout was smooth no issues happend their as well. So the conclusion is as it is a chain of itc hotels they don’t even serve 10% of the services which can be satisfactory with such a big brand name so not worth visiting. And u have to rely on them totally as there is nothing around the property so think before u go. They need to make a huge huge improvement to make it work in...
Read moreA beauty like no other. On our 5th trip to Jim Corbett, we decided to stay at the ITC Jim Corbett as unlike most other properties in Jim Corbett that are along side river Kosi and provide almost a similar look and feel this sits comfortably on top of a hill giving its occupants a feeling of being on top in their gorgeous earthy yet spacious rooms accompanied with exceptional service by their warm and welcoming staff. We stayed at their highest category suite, that was spacious and almost felt like being in a 1 bhk +. There was enough space for our 6 year old to runaround feeling at home. *Ok before we proceed further, here is something very important that you must keep in mind before booking a stay here. The hotel is almost 45/50 mins further ahead of the cluster of hotels near the safari entry gates. To give you an idea, it is almost 50 minutes further ahead of The Taj resort and spa.The drive is uphill towards Ranikhet. The drawback of this is that you should make sure that you get back to the hotel before sunset else it would be a difficult drive back to the hotel because the roads are narrow and with not lighting on the road. Coming back to the stay at the hotel, well it was truly enjoyable. Mornings are amazing as you wake up to a breathtaking view, followed by a lavish breakfast served with a lot of warmth. Most guests head out for their safari and other plans soon after and so did we. 4:30 pm till 6 pm is high tea ☕️ served while an extremely informative documentary narrated by Tom Alter is played about Jim Corbett and his life. Post high tea, people mostly head back to their rooms to rest and later enjoy some live music played by the pool side. Cocktails and snacks can also be enjoyed along with the live music at a cost of 499+taxes per adult and 299+ taxes for kids, where one can have two vegetarian and two non-vegetarian snacks. This is totally optional though. Dinner is served at theWelcome cafe. A lavish dinner buffet with delicacies from across India and the world can be relished for 1800+taxes per person. All in all it’s a fabulous place to stay and we are going back again for sure. Additionally kids can enjoy at the kids play room, fitness enthusiasts can enjoy a great workout at a well equipped gym, drinks can be enjoyed at Sizzel the bar and sumptuous meals can be enjoyed at the Welcome Cafe. Pictures and videos are below to help you get a feel of...
