Silvermoon Heritage Homestay — Hotel in Vypin

First day in India and what a great place to start our trip.|Big family house built by the great grandfather and handed down, airy, spacious and very calm.|Jesse and her son Daniel are very special people who want your stay to be whatever you want it to be, they were so helpful answering questions, helping organise transport, cash withdrawals and making sure we had whatever we wanted.|Jesse has three ladies in the kitchen who were always smiling and preparing FRESH from the garden food each day, their cooking was Kerelan traditional and we were also treated to Ayurvedic style, no spices, here you have heaven!|Breakfast under the tree in the garden, dinner at the family table in the large open kitchen with other guests who were taking a course of Ayurvedic treatment at the nearby center|If you love exploring food this is the place to come as the team are quite prepared for you to get involved in preparing the meals if you want to!|Amazing number of different birds in the huge garden which then fronts onto one of the backwaters where local fisherman still live and work the waters.|If you want some exploring there are beaches nearby and historic Fort Cochin is nearby via a ferry that cost us just pennies!|Thoroughly recommend...

I stayed at Silvermoon for two weeks while undertaking an Ayurvedic program. From the moment I arrived I felt so at home and warmly welcomed by hosts, Jessie and Daniel, and their beautiful staff. I had a very comfortable room, and enjoyed relaxing on the recliner overlooking the peaceful waters, watching the Kites/bird life and the fishermen at work. The ladies in the kitchen looked after us all very well, providing delicious healthy food that complimented the Ayurvedic program, nourishing and filling and also providing a cookery workshop so that I can continue some of the recipes at home. We highly recommend the Silvermoon Homestay. We came to the Silvermoon Homestay by chance and it was love at first sight. It wasn't just the clean spacious comfortable room and environment but above all the welcome we received from Jessie and her son Daniel. We have been to many places all over the world but never felt so welcome as at the Silvermoon Homestay. Jessie prepared meals for us that can only be described as spiced with love.
