Blue Orchid Premium Homestay — Hotel in West Bengal

This beautiful homestay is everything one needs on a holiday. We stayed here for two days and 1 night. After an exciting and tiring Gangtok trip, this beautiful homestay, located at Kalimpong, halfway between Gangtok and Bagadogra, provided the much needed relaxation one needs. As we entered we found ourselves in a warm welcome room, being handed the traditional kahwa, especially enriched with dryfruits, and on request honey, the perfect succour for rains ahead. We stayed in premium rooms, and the view from there was breathtaking. The open skys, tall trees, rhythmic rain. The luxurious drapes transformed the room into a cozy den.And despite plans to again explore, we found ourselves just sleeping it off.

On the way to the rooms, one couldn't take eyes off well curated beautiful artpieces perfectly gracing the spaces and walls. I was quiet pleasantly surprised by a small reading/library room. Perfect with skylights and couches. Something one doesn't come across many homestays. Needless to say this was explored by me and my kiddos.

The restaurant, is again beautifully placed, winded huge trunk of tall tree with plenty of climbers. There is something very poetic about sitting in the canopy, with rains falling with a well brewed coffee in hand. Food is awesome, changes can be requested. Kalimpong is place that offers a lot, and a shout out to it's Science Centre. Despite being from Hyderabad, and having experienced Science Center in Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, the one in kalimpong was pleasurable simply because it is extremely interactive. Had to get the kids forcibly out as we were running out of time.

The staff were awesome, Nitesh, Shubham, Rahul. They took care of all our needs. In house karaoke was mind blowing.

Two days isn't enough, and I plan to return to this...

A colleague recommended the property and we we booked our stay over the phone. It was an impromptu plan like most of our trips. It turned out to be a great decision. The property manager, Mr. Biplab Rai got in touch with us before our arrival and helped coordinate our travel from Bagdogra airport to Kalimpong. The recent Teesta flood and the resultant road damage required some planning for alternate routes but the transfer felt seamless, as the taxi driver was at the airport before we landed, picked us up and then facilitated the transfer of the rest of our party from NJP Railway station. The welcome was warm, check in was a breeze and the rooms were very nicely appointed. The decor of the property is very tasteful and it is spotlessly clean. Since we were the only guests at the time, we got to choose our rooms. We chose 2 balcony rooms on the first floor with great views. The staff organised our sightseeing trips with terrific suggestions on what to see and what to miss. The service by the entire staff was very warm and attentive. The food was truly good. The chef Michael, is an interesting man - an entertaining conversationalist, enthusiastic karaoke singer and above all, really good at his job. We asked for local cuisine and he curated the meals for us with Nepali, Bhutanese and Tibetan delicacies which we really enjoyed. We woke up every morning to beautiful views of the magnificent Kanchenjunga peaks. The days were spent on leisurely sightseeing and the evenings over fantastic meals accompanied by Michael's singing. Time flew and the staff were nice enough to facilitate our transfer back to Siliguri. We are already planning another trip. Highly recommended for anyone planning a trip up...

It was an amazing experience from start to end during our three nights stay in Blue Orchid Premium Homestay. From the moment we stepped into the lobby, we were greeted by a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, thanks to the attentive staff who made sure all our needs were met. Entering our room, we were immediately struck by its immaculate cleanliness and modern design. The attention to detail was evident, from the plush bedding to the thoughtful amenities provided. The room boasted stunning views of the city skyline, adding an extra touch of luxury to my stay.

Throughout our time at the hotel, we were consistently impressed by the level of service provided. The staff went above and beyond to ensure our comfort, whether it was arranging transportation or recommending local attractions to explore. Their professionalism and friendliness truly made me feel like a valued guest. Karaoke performed by them definitely added some excitement to our hotel stay and we highly appreciate the level of hospitality and efforts they made to entertain the guests.
