Chamong is named after a local bird Chamo (which I found on google). This is a newly built property of almost 7years (roughly) and has all modern amenities you can expect. Whenever you visit Chamong, a comparison with its Sister concern, "Tumsong" is inevitable. Though my personal feeling is Tumsong is better having a history and colonial feeling; Chamong will offer you all deliciousness beyond your desire. In this trip, I felt both the property and both were amazing.|Huge property, clean rooms and cosy atmosphere. Wonderful view of valley from rooms, lawns, dining area and even bathroom. Sitting in the balcony, watching clouds playing throught the valley will make your leisure like never before.|Booking is hassle free and all kind of payment gateways available.|Let me make this very clear to you on very first note. Whatever good you read here on Tripadvisor, is true and whatever you read bad, if absolutely false. Someone said they have 2.5L geyser. I had no issue with warm water at bathtub during my 3days shower.|All employee are serving from their will and not guided by any force. I also must add that Mr. Banerjee (the owner) is one of the most professional person I have ever seen. Every demand was taken care of.|Driver Vivek was a brilliant driver. His driving skill will surely make you feel comfortable.|Inside room you have enough tea bags (first and second flush), coffee pouches and be rest assured, you can't finish. Bathroom amenities are of international standard.|Again I say, this property is a bit costly but at the same time, worth every penny.|Chef Arjun is from Krishnanagar and he is having a Platinum arm. Prepares numberless dishes and serves them with smiling face and exactly 5min beforr the promised time.|And finally one more thing I must mention, everyone attached with both the properties are a true gentleman. Normally when searched for driver details, Owner says his employee will contact me. But when I contacted Mr. Banerjer (owner of Chamong) for driver details, he said his colleague will share the same with me. The transformation from employer to colleague is a big thing that matters. And the same you will feel coming here.|Spa is closed now.|We stayed here from 8th Oct, 2022 to 10th Oct, 2022 in Duke and Dutches Manor (previously known as Queen Room) and they are the best...

To start with. It is a beautiful property atop a hill sourunded by deep gorge & valley of Darjeeling tea bushes.
But do not get influenced by the name. This is neither a luxury resort nor a Spa. A classic case of false advertising.
Newly built property in place of old Manager's Bungalow lacks basic amenities like a tissue box
But what is most annoying is that they give no information about 3 kilometres of boulder full approach road. This strech can be treacherous for people with slight medical problem or a pregnant lady.
This is the precise reason why the resort do not like to arrange transport for you. At Bagdogra/NJP taxis flatly refuse in the name of Chamong.
Also irresponsible management advise you to travel through Mirik & then narrow bumpy 4.5 KM steep down & 4.5 KM steep up (& then suddenly in the middle of journey tells you about high clearance car) before that torturous final 3KM.
Any sane person would have asked you to come via Sukhia Pokhri.
After charging 18,000 per night, expect you to buy tea bags & coffee pouches for this luxury provide a tea kettle without tea/coffee leave alone a couple of cookies.
The resort Manager (very polite) but only busy to push you criminally expensive food/drinks/services.
The menu card with prices is a joke with 1000 for a cup of Tea to 500 for a peg of cheap Indian Whisky.
I wanted to forget about the Bengali General Manager's extreme rude WhatsApp exchanges. But in person, he ignores you 10 times a day. Sees through you. Not even a customary Hello!
