Ganga Bitan "The Deck Villa" — Hotel in West Bengal

It was a one night stay planned with friends that had no room for any untoward experience. Pretty disappointed!

BOOKED ONLINE LOOKING AT THE DECENT ROOM PICTURES THAT WAS NOT A MATCH FOR THE SHABBY EXTERIOR !

ONLY TWO ROOMS, WHICH THOUGH SPACIOUS LACKS PLANNING AND HYGIENE.

ROOMS EQUIPPED WITH AC HAS FANS THAT ARE PROPS IN THE ROOM AND COMPLETELY USELESS.

THE ROOM IS INFESTED BY DIFFERENT KINDS OF INSECTS AND A SPECIAL APPEARANCE MADE BY RODENTS WHO ARE A REGULAR.

MAINTENANCE OF POOL AND ROOMS ARE BELOW AVERAGE. THE FOOD SERVED IS AVERAGE AND BASIC. THEY SERVE THE SAME LEFTOVER MEAL FOR DINNER.

THE CARETAKER WILL NOT CARE POST 9:30PM AND DISAPPEAR FROM THE PREMISES ITSELF.

THE VILLA IS AT THE FAG END OF GANGA BITAN , IN A SORRY STATE!

It was just wonderful as a weekend destination. We stayed there for the year-end night 2024. The bungalow is made of steel, aluminum, and glasses. Beautiful cozy rooms. Pet friendly. The caretaker Debojyoti is a very helpful and charming young man. The cook Asima fed us well. Homely and tasty food. The last couple of kilometers of the approach road is narrow and broken through the village. But once you reach there it's quiet and scenic. Since the place is slightly remote, visitors should carry snacks, etc,...
