LAKE VIEW RESORT — Hotel in West Bengal

Our visit to the Garumara/Lataguri Forest ranges would not have been so memorable had it not been for the Lake View Resort at Lataguri where we spent three memorable nights.

Located bang by the side of the Garumara Forest you can virtually enjoy the wonderful scenario without even getting out of your bed.Room 106 where we stayed provides you with the best possible view of this mesmarising forest.A private verandah attached to the room adds to the pleasures of viewing the serenity of this great forest.All the rooms are located in such a way that you will never feel claustophobic even if the resort is running to full house.

The food served here is extremely good and you can choose between a fish/chicken or an egg meal.With the main course comes dal,subzi,chutney and sweets with rice or rotis as you wish.Breakfast is usually Puri subzi or bread butter eggs to order---and of course tea or coffee.

All the staff members are extremely polite and helpful and would easily walk the extra mile without demur.

You will be surprised with the tariffs and meal charges.They are highly economical and never for a moment will you feel the sting on your purse.Moreover,if you wish to visit the various sight seeing points,you can arrange your tour with the transporter attached to the Resort---Mou Travels--and you will be surprised with his quotes----it is unbelievably economical.The transporter is also very very reliable.

Soumyojit Sarkar is the person in charge of the Resort --just put a call to him and you will experience a very professional and courteous handling of your itenary.Excellent is the word.

We will come back again and again maybe just to stay at this Resort to unwind ourselves.

One last word.Please do not expect 5 star comfort or service.----For that, go to the appropriate places---but for us,we will dispose off all options and come back to this place whenever time permits.Thank you Soumyojit and Team for all.

A word of advice Soumyojit.The facilities at the Dormitory needs...

Most indecent people ever seen ..after travelling around the globe.. This is regards to a month ago..As we entered the hotel,the manger was totally drunk and spoke in a very indecent manner...Though was a confirmed booking through yatra and my money was credited to their account but didn't stay at all as the manager said there was no booking confirmed..if not,then why did yatra take the money...Never asked for any id proofs and we obviously do have it as we are pure citizens of India..but due to the managers indecent way of talking,we just left but now they aren't refunding my money..I am shocked as to why they are not refunding my money for no service and yatra is equally responsible for it too...So dear people,would request to never book this hotel and never use yatra for any bookings as both the hotel and yatra are only too crazy about money or you might have this same consequence as mine which I am sure you wouldnt like it...Too disgusting yatra and the hotel ..please dont ever trust yatra ....They are just concerned about their piece of share from the hotelier and not about the customers...Worst experience with yatra as well as this hotel....A request again to the people,dont ever use yatra for the booking and never book a room in here...disgraceful people. I visited Dooars recently & after going through so many mixed reviews I chose to stay at this extremely beautiful resort. From the accommodation to the service everything was so perfect. We stayed there for 3nights 4days and had a great homely experience. The owner himself,Soumyajit is always just a call away for anything you need be that morning 6am or late night 2am.You ask for anything to him he will ensure it is at your doorstep. Here I would also like to mention the manager Ali da who was super helpful & there was this guy named Lattu who is always there at your service with a huge innocent smile on his face. We booked 3double standard rooms and it was just next to the jungle so, the balcony view was just stunning. Gorumara national reserve is just a few kilometres away from the resort & jungle safari booking office is only 500meters away from the resort. We got everything we asked for in this resort. From early check-in to check out everything was very smooth here. The food quality is also great. If you choose their package they will give you food 4times a day & you will get variety of food. I can not thank enough to Soumyajit & Lake view resort for making our stay so pleasant. I will surely visit this place again & recommend others too.
