NB Sonar Bangla Hotel — Hotel in West Bengal

I had a very unpleasant experience at Sonar Bangla Hotel. The room was unclean, and during rain, water leaked through the windows, causing the entire space to feel damp and uncomfortable. To make matters worse, the AC unit was leaking directly onto the bed and my head, making sleep impossible.

The toilet was in an unacceptable condition—not cleaned properly—and overall, the room gave a suffocating and unhygienic feeling. The corridors, main lobby, and even the restaurant area had poor ventilation and an unpleasant atmosphere.

Although the restaurant menu listed several items, most dishes were unavailable, making it impossible to order anything we actually wanted. On top of that, it was obvious that the place is frequented more by couples looking for privacy rather than genuine guests, which does not reflect well on the hotel’s environment.

The staff were poorly trained, lacked basic hospitality etiquette, and seemed indifferent to guest complaints.

While the hotel is situated near AIIMS Kalyani and not very far from IISER Kolkata,it is located in the interior (not on the main road) which is basically an unpaved path that becomes flooded and filled with potholes, rendering it almost inaccessible during monsoons.
