Food is awesome. Great place to spend weekends. Rooms are okayish

Update - Oct 2025 Visited the resort for the fourth time for an overnight trip with friends and family. There were 32 of us with 10 rooms. But the quality of the resort has visibly gone down. Firstly, the staff refused to handle billing for the food for so many people and they pushed it to us to manage, citing system incompatibility. But they could have easily done it as this is how group bookings are managed everywhere. I guess they were just trying to avoid work as is the usual case with hired staff. Secondly, the room given to us stank horribly. It was a horrible experience so pls avoid room 104. We were at a disadvantage as we had already paid advances and we had no other options. Finally, the food served in the evening was simply pathetic. The meat felt like rubber and the pakodas tasted like fried in salt.

So a word of caution, avoid Prantik or any other place based on previous experiences. Stand alone resorts / hotels / food joints do not really have any commitment to consistency unless they are part of a bigger chain with firm standards.

Update - 08 Oct This is in response to the reasonings provided from the resort.

1. Irrespective of "system constraints", a resort facility is expected to help customer have a better stay and not make it stressful which was the case during our stay. I hv been to other chains / resorts / hotels and individual 'billing by room' is a norm and not an exception.
2. The pakodas were salty and distributed to kids and adults in separate places. The kids, being kids, consumed these irrespective of the taste. However, the resort staff in no way accepted the pakodas "promptly and refunded" for the salt overdose. Rather one of my friend had to convince in a stern manner and later the resort staff also came over and apologised for their lack of understanding. So pls do not say that the matter was promptly accepted and amount was refunded. Pls accept that these are issues and need some introspection before responding back to a customer. We were strong loyalists of Prantik as I mentioned earlier and this was my fourth stay. I hv so far only praised the place and since now that I'm bringing up issues, the resort staff should understand that there are concerns that need to be looked into... Pls treat a review as a means of improving your service and not...

Extreme rude and impolite OWNERS daughter who greeted with a sarcastic smile and quote "This is my property and im the owner". Saturday 26th Aug 2017 we been to this place 2nd time around 11 adults and 2 kids. But the experience was horrified as OWNERS Daughter tried to frame us for some theft which happened to another corporate colleague of PWC. Upon checking with them they also confirmed that they are been pushed to lodge a complaint against us to search our bags and rooms. We had to leave the place with our kids without having lunch. I urge every one don't go by the looks of the property the owners would greet you as they have done some favour letting you stay. Though they rent out the property to earn only which is a irony. Stay away from this place and let all know.

In response to the charges been made by Prantik staff against us are....all baseless and false.

Food was only been served by there staff so no way we can force or bring the food to pool. No one was heckled or abused because there was no reason but yes there was a argument. The people from PWC did mentioned that lady Owner was forcing them for us to be searched. We spoke to the individual they have confirmed the same. Having lunch in wet clothes, same thing has happened last time with the same staff excluding Lady owner but no one told us anything so we had no clue about this. I.must say the way things are been handled is extreamly unfortunate as people go somewhere to spend some good time NOT this roughe attitude. None of our points are baseless Mr/Mizz Owner as we were the one who called police intervention.

But moreover it was a horrible time of our lives and we all echo and now surely you guys can claim us wrong/false but THAT is Truth. Certainly its our mistake that 3rd time...

Experienced in Dec 2016. Located at NH16, the place is a little inside of the highway so make sure you look at the Name Board and Google Map carefully. Should not be a problem to reach if you are travelling with a car. Ample parking space available. Point to be noted that this is located before "Sher e Punjab Restaurant Kolaghat" so you do NOT have to cross Rupnarayan River Bridge to reach here. Excellent place to visit with family or friends. They have ample of space for small or medium sized picnic. They have a good authentic Bengali food restaurant where you get traditional menu like Poppy Seed preparations, Fish, Sukhto, also chicken curry, etc. The place is suitable for a couple of days stay. So good for a weekend break. if travelling in a car, you must carry good stock of drinking water (if possible). Especially, if travelling with kids. The place has good collection of activities for kids. Engaging them should be very easy. They have a nice, Swimming Pool. Water is clean and a must try for lovers. Rooms availability can be a question so recommend to book ahead of your journey. Quality of rooms is decent and do NOT expect star service or quality. Room service was okay, could have been better. Since a weekend stay, one night should not be a big deal. However, a you get a good collection and storage of big, healthy mosquitoes :-) so A MUST TO CARRY Anti-mosquito liquidator, spray and patches if you do not want to be bitten. Hotel provide one, but you must carry your own for better effect. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and hope your stay remains in your memory to cherish. All the best and have...
