Ronglee Homestay — Hotel in West Bengal

I visited Ronglee Homestay for one day on 23rd of November, 2023. The host– My Yuden Lepcha and his family took care of all our needs, that too with a smiling faces. It was a different experience for me as I am used to staying in Hotels and Guest houses when I am travelling. This is the first instance of me availing a homestay. I was on a trip to Gangtok with my son and decided to drop in for one day at Ronglee Homestay. Hardly had I imagined that it would become such a memorable experience for me. It is located in Toribari around 10 kms from NJP Railway station and we reached the place via Salugara- Bengal Safari Park route. The first thing that I noticed on reaching the homestay was its surroundings. It is located just behind Bengal Safari Park. The road from Bengal Safari Park to the homestay is picturesque. The compound is thronged with wide variety of plants which creates an extraordinary ambiance. You can hear the distinct chirping of birds and sound of insects even from the room. The food was home cooked and delicious. The hospitality of the host couple was warm, to say the least. My Yuden even took care of our transportation needs. Last, but not the least, their pets. This review would be incomplete without a word about their lovely pets. Their pets were friendly and made me feel at home as I also have four dogs in my residence. Overall, my experience at Ronglee Homestaywas outstanding. It’s a must visit place for me when I happen to come down again to this part of the world. My one day stay at Ronglee Homestay, Toribari was my first experience of staying in a homestay. Being a city dweller in Rishra, a place near Kolkata, I visited the homestay with my mother for getting a much needed break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. My stay was truly remarkable and I would savour it for the rest of my life. The homestay is around 2 kms from Bengal Safari and a few hundred metres from Ewam Monastery. It is located in the lap of nature and the ambiance created by the large variety of plants is just unbelievable. The vibe created by the chirping of birds in the morning and the sound of insects at night make the ambiance an unforgettable experience. Now, coming to the hospitality rendered by Mr and Mrs Lepcha. They provided us each and every facility that they could. The warm behavior of the Mr Yuden Lepcha and his family members never made us realize that we are not in our home but in a homestay. The food served was sumptuous and as per our requirement. The best thing that I liked about the homestay was their adorable pets. A number of dogs and cats were there in their premises which add to the homely atmosphere. Mr Yuden also arranged vehicles for our onward journey. I will definitely visit the place again when I come to NJP/Siliguri. I will also recommend my friends and family members to spend at least one day here to get what a city heart ask for. Yoden Daju’s family has lovingly maintained a beautiful garden, which enhances the homely feel of the place. The rooms are impeccably clean and cozy, providing a restful retreat.

The homestay also offers reliable Wi-Fi, which is a convenient addition. Staying here truly feels like being at a second home, thanks to the warmth and hospitality of the owners. Esther and Yuden, the hosts, are incredibly humble and helpful, treating every guest like a member of their own family. Their genuine care and exceptional service make the experience memorable.
