K2 Lembeh Dive Resort — Hotel in Bitung

Strongly recommended!!! We have been 12 days to the Diveresort K2 Lembeh and felt warmly welcome and comfortable right from the beginning. The transfer from the airport Manado to the resort was perfectly organized, so we enjoyed the journey from Manado to the port of Bitung and the boat trip to the resort. Arriving at the resort the staff was managing our baggage and we were offered a refreshing soft drink and some snacks. Our accommodation was a comfortable bungalow with a super silent air condition and a bathroom with shower and WC. The room was cleaned every day while we were diving and the towels got changed every 2 days (or more if needed). The Resort had a lot of smart and lovely details such as mosquito repellent and fresh drinking water in the rooms and restaurant. The restaurant was styled regional and traditional and we had a breathtaking view over the bay of Bitung and the sunset. The food was always fresh, high quality and very delicious: For breakfast we were able to choose from a large variety of food (all styles of eggs), traditional Indonesian breakfast, pancakes etc. For lunch and dinner we were served all the time soup, meat, fish, vegetables, rice and fruits. We always were offered water and juice for free and could order soft drinks, beer or wine. The Resort is run by a perfect team who fulfilled every wish of ours before we even could express it, not just for the room and food, but also for extraordinary wishes or trips over the Island of Lembeh or to the Mainland of Sulawesi and especially for all matters of diving! Our dive experiences with the dive masters MAN and FIKI were magnificant! EFAN, dive master-to-be and singing music lover, and the captain supported the dive masters when we got into the water or came back from diving by preparing and picking up all the material, serving fruits and hot drinks and sometimes playing guitar while we paused between two dives. We could rent cameras to take pictures/videos by ourselves, but most of the time, both dive masters joined the dive, one was showing the underwater critters and one was taking professional fotos and videos from what we have seen and gave them to us as a special gift. I would like to emphasis the experience of the dive masters: We have seen so many rare critters, some of them were so tiny, that we watched them through a magnifying glass underwater and while watching them, the dive master wrote the names of the critters on a board. In the evenings we also looked up those animals in a book and got additional information from the dive masters. When MAN or FIKI found a rare critter (such as blue-ringed octopus, flamboyant cuttlefish, electric clam, etc.), they were also proud and happy to show them to us. The quality of the water was so good, that we were also diving directly in the port to see the famous Mandarin fishes while sunset. Most of the time we dived with FIKI and we really want to say as special thanks to him! He was guiding us always savely and his experience in all of the dive sites is overwhelming. He is happy to find all the animals and beauties of nature, knows all of their names and living conditions and so we have seen most of the critters the Strait of Lembeh is famous for. We spent 10 days at K2 in January 2025. It was the best food we had on our entire trip. The chefs come up with something different every meal and cater to your specifc diets. We are pescaderian so they did a great job making interesting dishes with seafood, fish and tempeh. They offered to bring us to the tempeh facory up the road to see how it is made. We didn't have time, but will do it next time we visit. And we will be going back! We got enaged there. Once the chefs learned of this, they madfe a very special dinner, putting our table within heart-shaped lights with flower petals and offering us a free bottle of wine. So sweet and special.||The dive guides were great. I was no expert when I arrived but both Fiki and Man were patient and attentive and ensured safety first while working with me to get better with my bouyancy and comfort level. I learned a lot. Aside from that, they are so knowledgeable on nubis and all little cresatures found in the Lembeh Strait. Not only did we find different creatures on every dive but they knew the specifc name of the creature not just tha type (nubi, goby, clam, octopus). Very impressive. We didn't encounter this type of knowledge when we dove with the more expensive outfits in the area. They would write down all of the names o f everyhting for each dive. If photos were taken, they wold share the photos. When we started taking pictures owth out new camera, they assisted and hlped train us in how to use it as well. And a week after we returned to the states, I received a message from Man with photos of the field of psychedlic sea urchins we hadn't got a photo of. Like I saud, this palce goes above and beyond.||The accomodations are great too. Every villa has a view of the Strait and a deck to chill out on after diving. The bed was comfortable and the shower had good pressure and very hot water. The rooms were cleaned daily. ||This place puts the detail in the most important things - views, food, guides, comfort. They arranged our trip to Tangkoko, and all transportation at a lesser rate than other places. They truly want to make your visit the best and will accomodate. We were fortunate to have the owners on site for part of our stay. They were very accomodating, nice and we felt that we had made friends to visit agian. It is also nice to know that they provide scholarships to local kids and try to support the local community as best they can. ||We will be returning to this lovely ...

My husband and I had been wanting to dive and stay in Lembeh for quite sometime. I came across quite some options prior making the booking but K2 striked me as one of best. The previous reviews I have read both on Google and Trip Advisor peaked my curiosity. So I sent an email and it didn't take too long to get an informative reply from Sharon.

Long story short, we confirmed our booking and set our course to K2 Lembeh. Our pickup service was fantastic and we were welcomed with the friendly and helpful boat crews, glasses of cold juice and sandwiches. Check in was also smooth, easy and quick.

Our room was lovely and felt homey. It was spacious, clean and tidy, complete with mosquito net and mosquito repellent - although we didn't find many mosquito/ insects in the room. The bathroom was clean and always smells really nice. The bed was comfy and I was even more impressed that they even had "guling!!!"

Then came the dives on the next day. Needless to say it was THE BEST dives we have had. From day 1, from the first dive day until our last dive day and our last dive, they were not disappointing. We ticked most of the critters we'd love to see and even gotten more than what we'd expected. Fiki, our dive guide had amazing eagle eyes. He is super friendly, super polite, super helpful and he tried his absolute best to fulfill all of our bucket list creatures and even some more. The dive and boat crews were really helpful, spoiled me with fresh coffee after each dive (after the first dive they even knew my favorite - room temperature coffee!)

The food.... oh where do I start.... We were absolutely spoiled with every meal, every dish made and served by Roni and Yuli. We have been spending most of our time overseas and the food in K2 made me feel absolutely at home, perfect Indonesian food!! I was honestly amazed that even though we are vegan and vegetarian, the dishes that they served were never boring. Fresh fruit for dessert after lunch, fresh coconut water, even some light snacks on the evening before dinner, I won't be surprised if we gained couple of kg after our trip 😀

Sharon and Ang the owners are super friendly, funny and soulful people that makes sure we have a great time at K2. We enjoyed our conversations and stories. Thank you for making us feel like home.
