Our stay at Reconnect was a lovely way to finish our Togean holiday. Its proximity to the mainland made for a shorter trip back to the Luwuk airport which was awesome. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and new. I stayed in the glamping tent and was careful about not leaving the door open to avoid mosquitos and flies. Some friends in other rooms were not so fortunate, as the rooms are not sealed up. Being surrounded by raw nature, this isn’t surprising, as even I ended up with quite a few spiders by the time the week was over. The rooms proximity to nature allowed us to relax on the porches with the ocean breeze and beautiful views. The price for such accommodation, though, is a bit pricy, I thought. Food was delicious, though breakfast was kinda soggy in the morning and we often ran out of some of the dishes by the time late eaters got around to it. The common areas are incredible. Lounges on the beach, the hammock on the jetty, gorgeous dining area (sit under a fan to keep the flies away). The sunsets are perfect, and there’s an abundance of places to sit and watch and be at peace. The staff was friendly and helpful, but service was quite slow sometimes for the kind of vibe they’re creating (eg. ordering food or drinks in the afternoon took quite long). They were attentive when there were issues though, and worked to solve problems for the guests. A highlight of the trip was the diving. It’s not known as a dive destination, but Indra is working hard to discover new sites and uncover treasures found in the sites around the island. There’s a little bit of everything, in pristine conditions and at a variety of diver levels. Even snorkeling is wonderful (and one reason we headed to BukaBuka in the first place). Though the reef begins way out from the beach and you’ve gotta swim a ways before you read it (but is well worth it for the beautiful drop off, schools of fish, and even a turtle!!) the sandy bottom closer to shore has an abundance of little creatures to find and watch. We saw scorpion fish, a little octopus, mantis shrimp, and so many little juvenile fish. I highly recommend Reconnect, if you don’t mind a bit of a journey to get here and remote eco-resort conditions. It is such a relaxing place to stay to get away from the chaos of life and embrace the peace and beauty that comes with reconnecting with creation.

The resort, staff, food & drinks, snorkelling, diving, facilities, comfort, views, sunsets, vibe - all absolutely incredible! We loved everything so much, we extended our stay a few more days. Boat from Ampana can be organized through the resort and takes about 45-60 minutes. In our villa, we had 24 hour electricity, wifi, a water refill station, fan above the bed, desk and chair, and trunks for storage with one that has a lock/key. There was also a drying rack, two separate table & chairs, and a hammock on the patio. Paddle boards, snorkel gear, fins and a clear kayak are available for rent. Laundry service also available. Many thanks to Thomas for creating such a beautiful, well run and organized resort. His care for the environment and desire for sustainability and to protect the ocean, marine life and land is admirable. Huge shoutout and thanks to dive master Indra for his professionalism, knowledge, teaching and kindness, and for taking us to so many amazing dive sites and showing us so many incredible things underwater! We were lucky to have 10 private dives with him and the great boat crew. We saw Black Tip Sharks, schools of Barracudas, Turtles, an Octopus, and tons of different fish. Also, thank you to Fate for all her help and information for anything and everything we asked or needed. And to the kitchen team - every meal and snack was delicious! Hopefully we'll see you all again next year! - Naomi and JF

I stayed there for 3 days 2 night and it was an amazing experience. The place was so quiet, yet filled by warm people from various countries. I can say you may come alone here, but you never feel lonely. Everyone is so welcomed and they also have a fun volleyball game in the afternoon which is a great idea to pull others to be closer. on top of that, the activities in the island are also fun! You can do kayaking, snorkeling, freediving, scubadiving, jungle trekking to see coconut crabs, and even watching fantastic sunset in the afternoon! Not to mention, they served delicious foods! 7 am - breakfast 12 pm - lunch 4 pm - afternoon tea 7pm - dinner Psstt don’t miss their chocolate pancake in the afternoon 😉 So far that was an amazing experience staying here. The staff are very helpful as well. Kudos to Fate, Asia, Adam, Indra, Putra, and other staff that I can’t mention one by one. Also it’s great to have a nice convo with Thomas. He is such a warm person and happy to share his story building such an incredible place like Reconnect! All and all, I love to come back again & explore more the dive sites, as well as I want to see the dolphins!

If ChatGPT were to generate the perfect vacation spot, it would create Reconnect.||||I came across Reconnect by accident while planning our trip to the Togian Islands. After booking our stay, I didn’t have high expectations—just another stop on our journey where we would stay for a few days. However, the place itself, the people, and the atmosphere exceeded my wildest expectations.||||Starting with the villas, they are beautifully designed and have everything you need: warm water in the shower, mosquito nets, fans (the more expensive villas also have AC), and each villa is wonderfully located with a porch and a cozy sitting area. Despite being close to nature, there weren’t many insects inside—we didn’t even use the mosquito net at night because nothing disturbed our sleep.||||The food was absolutely delicious. After three weeks of traveling through Java, I was tired of deep-fried dishes and the lack of fresh vegetables and cooked meals. At Reconnect, the food was diverse, flavorful, and offered healthy, light options. There were always fresh fruits, coffee, tea, and fresh juices available.||||The coral reef surrounding the island is breathtaking in its diversity. The diving center is well-equipped, with excellent specialists who are passionate about what they do.||||The island itself offers plenty of activities—during our five-day stay, I was never bored for a moment.||||And finally, the people who make Reconnect what it is. Warm, welcoming, and from the very first moment, we felt like we were among good friends. I’ve never received as much genuine kindness and help in any hotel or resort as I did here. It was mainly because of the people that leaving this place was so difficult.||||A huge thank you to our fellow, Asia—you know why!!:)))||||We will definitely come back for a longer stay! Thank you once again for an incredible...
