RedDoorz near Hermes Place Polonia Medan — Hotel in City of Medan

It used to be a very good accommodation, new building, in the center of the city and affordable.

It is still located in the center of the city (obviously!) and affordable, but now the place needs a lot of maintenances. Some rooms have tore wallpapers, the AC is not cooling enough, broken shower holder in the bathroom, clogged shower drain and sometimes it took so long for the water to heat up.

But, it still at the top 5 of my accommodation-list every time I visit Medan.

One certain thing that hasn't changed is how friendly and helpful the staffs are, I always feel welcomed...

It's located in a small lane so we gotta walk 5mins to the main street to get to cafes, warungs and supermarket. Although it's a little dark but it's still pretty safe. There are about 4 eatery choices nearby and there isn't a big shopping centre within walking distance.. you can take a grab betor instead. The best thing about this place is the low price and decent facilities. The hotel looks pretty new actually plus the staff are also...

Absolut schrecklich. Ich dachte, dass es nach unserem Hotel in Vang Vieng (Laos) nicht mehr schlimmer geht, aber ich wurde eines besseren belehrt. Der Empfang war noch ganz ok, als wir das Zimmer gesehen haben war es vorbei. Mit der Öffnung der Tür kam uns schon ein unangenehmer Geruch entgegen. Fenster zum Flur, daher kann keine frische Luft ins Zimmer. So entsteht dann eben auch der Geruch. Das Bad war noch nass und einfach nur eklig. Auf dem Boden an der Dusche war eine eklige Substanz, die ich mir gar nicht genauer ansehen wollte. Wir haben uns das erste Mal während unserer Weltreise auch nicht aufs Klo gesetzt. Ich denke, das sagt alles. Ebenfalls keine Lüftung im Bad, einfach unglaublich. Einige Gegenstände aus Holz im Zimmer verlieren ihre Verkleidung, da es eben durchgehend nass und feucht ist. Das Bett war einigermaßen bequem, das wars dann aber auch. Die Wand war schmutzig, der Boden in den Ecken ebenfalls. Keine Ahnung, wo diese guten Bewertungen herkommen. Einfach nur schrecklich...
