Mulih Ka Desa Hotel — Hotel in Garut

Don't trust this hotel! They did a public lie! We're very disappointed to stay there. It's quite below our expectation as we saw on Traveloka. The hotel is not the same with the picture. There is no traditional buffet meals as in the village (as seen on the Traveloka and their official picture) when I asked the front man about this, the front man just said "it's only the illustration, we don't provide for real". The breakfast only turmeric rice with bakwan (the bakwan with less vegie and full of flour, so sad!). The drinking water heater jug is full of corrosion!! I was really shock, I can't imagine if people using that jug! It's so dangerous for the health. The bed is very humid and so itchy. I had itchy on my body and I once asked them to change the bed cover with the new one but still made me itch. That hotel is not reccomended for people with sensitive skin like me. A lot of bugs, mosquitos and fungi (so itchy!). I couldn't sleep because there was a mouse walking around the ceiling and made me afraid. This is my worst experience of staying in the hotel. I will never come...

We stayed in this Hotel at the end of 2014.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The Bungalow was spacious, with big window and nice terrace to enjoy the surrounding environment, the trees, rice fields and fish ponds.

The sound of crickets at nights and water from the creek makes you feel like you're truly in some remove village.

When most hotels nowadays build with little care to the environment, I really appreciate that someone build this kind of hotel, that keep the environment green, while making profit.

Some areas that can be improved:

Food served for Hotel guests are below par. While this is probably the only hotel that served dinner and breakfast, but unfortunately the taste need a lot of improvement. Which is to me a bit strange, considering that this place is also a restaurant. Not sure if the food they serve in the restaurant is the same quality or not.

Wifi doesn't get to the room. I couldn't get Internet connection...

Sy tertarik dari namanya, maka kemudian pesan via traveloka. Weekend, lebih murah di traveloka (400k) daripada di pricelist hotel (700K)

Sebenarnya konsep penginapannya bagus, Pulang ke desa, tp sayang detail arsitektur ruangannya/cottagenya dibuat tanpa pertimbangan arsitektur yg matang.

Nampaknya perawatan bangunan jg cukup berat, kurang terawat. Sebenarnya enggak sesuai dg harganya sih, menurut sy.

Kalau boleh sy sarankan ke owner :

Redisain area hotel, supaya kendaraan bisa parkir di dekat cottage. (sekarang semua kendaraan parkir di sepan). Konsep pulang ke kampung tetap dipertahankan, tetapi pilihan pertanian berupa padi sy rasa kurang tepat. Barangkali konsep kebun sayur bisa dipertimbangkan.

Pilihan material bahan bangunan sy katakan kurang tepat, krn lantai menggunakan blockboard. Murah memang, tp perlu dipahami blockboard tidak akan tahan thd cuaca. Produk ini utk interior, waredrobe misalnya. Lantai sy sarankan ganti papan semen (GRC) yg 18mm, atau cor beton sekalian lalu difinish parquet atau boleh jg karpet dg motif kayu seperti yg ada sekarang.

Sy suka finishing dinding KM-nya, pakai plester aci kasar lalu ditutup cat. Meja washtafel jg tidak berlebihan, hanya beton tanpa tanpa keramik, tp cukup keren. Hanya memang perawatannya sangat kurang. Kran sudah pada rusak tidak diganti. Hal ini bisa memperparah biaya operasional listrik.

TV di dalam kamar jaman sekarang sudah tidak dibutuhkan. Penyediaan jaringan wifi barangkali malah dibutuhkan.

Sy menyoroti terutama kerapian jaringan listriknya. Bola lampu ada yg mati tidak diganti. Lampu bed tidak berfungsi sama sekali. Ketersediaan stop kontak sangat terbatas, untung sy punya roll kabel. Pilihan armature (stop kontak, fitting lampu dan saklar) sayangnya dipilih barang yg murahan, sangat disayangkan.

Dari sisi pelayanan, sy menduga hotel ini memaksimalkan SDM kampung/lingkungan yg ada. Bagus sih, hanya perlu satu orang yg ngerti betul masalah pelayanan, selebihnya boleh lah orang lokal.

Sarapan, tadinya sy berharap mendapatkan menu khas desa, sayuran, bubur atau makanan khas kampung/desa. Ternyata yg sy dapat nasi goreng seperti service makan bus malam AKAP.😭😭😭

Next, mudah2an bisa menginap lagi di sini dengan pengalaman pulang ke desa yg lebih nyaman dan benar2 merasakan hangatnya...
