To all foreigners and locals coming home, Consider and reconsider before booking this hotel. Decide upon your best judgement after reading our harrowing experience quarantining at this hotel. My son prepaid a room here to complete the required 5day quarantine. Checked in on 13th June 1pm, shortly after ,he was given a swab test(hotel claimed to be pcr test though only nasal swab was performed). Later that night, he was woken up at MIDNIGHT, to be notified his test result was positive and to immediately get ready for in 30 minutes! a car will transfer him out of the hotel. He was to choose between wisma atlet (government designated centre for mass Covid isolation or 4 star hotel Harriston suites in Bandengan area. We as parents were naturally concerned and promptly set out to speak to the hotel management directly. We tried to reason to delay the transfer till decent hour next morning so we could get an independent lab to do a retest PCR for comparison but was rejected on grounds comparison pcr test was NOT ALLOWED, although personels were unable to produce any written regulation pertaining it. (I wish I’d recorded the conversation). After 2 hours debating to no avail , we gave in as it was 3am and we learnt that our son had been WAITING IN THE BASEMENT all that time along with 2 other suspected positives. NO REFUND granted despite the fact he didn’t even sleep a night. Fast forward, our son finally got his independent comparison test whixh resulted NEGATIVE. And for those still undecided,, the next day our son's university mate , encountered a similar predicament at this same hotel, she had been tested negative on day 1,completed the 5 days quarantine, but received a positive result on day 5 (quarantined guests can’t use the lift, how is it that the hotel didn’t get locked down?). Luckily she learnt that the next destination isolation hotel Harriston is in fact an abandoned hotel (read our review at harriston suites site) and demanded instead to go to the hospital. She had another pcr test which ALSO resulted NEGATIVE. Many similar incidents at this hotel began circulating since( and probably since way before us) ,hopefully this review can prevent from...
Read moreQuarantine stay for 5 nights - not really a 4-star experience - lots of issues (and please understand, I am not normally a "grump", but this stay had some real issues): Floor was filthy and unswept when we arrived. Very foul sewage smell from the drain in the floor in the half-bathroom - we covered that drain with tape to block the stench - unacceptable to be confined in a room with that smell. Toilet paper was minimal (2 partial rolls in use, no extras) - we had to call to get some - 1st and 2nd calls - resulted in no one coming with TP. 3rd request in person - he never came back - I finally got some from public bathrooms on the ground floor and brought it back to our room (I know this is not the way to quarantine, but we needed TP). Garbage pick up was slow and hit-or-miss. Had to call each time for another garbage bag to collect our garbage - finally 2 days before departing, a helpful room service person brought 2 extra bags - VERY HELPFUL! Laundry pickup was good, but never left a bag or slip for the following day - so we had to call down every morning to ask them to bring bag and laundry slip. Every meal was rice + small portions, juice, fruit, waters... always COLD, always, COLD, always COLD. We did not even know until checking out that there were western options for the quarantine package - cold rice for breakfast, lunch and supper every day - very disappointing. Lunch on 2 different days during our stay was completely forgotten - I did call and ask about it was told - "it's on the way" at 1230, again told same thing again at 1320 and when I last called at 1500, i was told the same thing. Lunch never did come that day. The next time it happened, we just ordered room service - and to our surprise, that came within 20 minutes and it was warm. Since we were quarantining due to COVID19, tested on the morning we arrived - it would have been good to know our test results. No one ever updated us on results, we had to wait until checkout to see results of tests. Others in our organization at different hotels, say this is NOT normal - results are delivered, so you know...
Read moreStaying during PPKM Darurat, so that all public facilities such as the gym, swimming pool, children's playground are closed and even breakfast is delivered to the room.
The hotel is still very new and the building design is also very interesting, when we enter the hotel area we immediately take a flyover which is quite long and leads directly to the hotel lobby. from parking area in B1 we need to take elevaror and going up to 1st floor for going to the hotel lobby, after oit from elevator, we need first pass the sky bridge which is very similar to the sky bridge that connects to the garbarata at the airport.
The atmosphere in the lobby also feels like an airport with escalator access. the check-in process was quite long because the room was not ready and being cleaned but waiting in the hotel lobby was also quite comfortable and felt safe because it happened to be quiet and there were no other guests. coincidentally got a room on the top floor, which is the 39th floor, so the view is also very interesting, from inside the room you can see the outdoor playground, jogging track and also the swimming pool which unfortunately cannot be used due to PPKM Darurat regulations. the room is quite spacious and almost all the walls are given a backdrop and soft wood color, the size of the bed is very large 200cm x 200cm, a king size bed with a super comfortable kingkoil mattress and four very soft pillows, there is also a one seater sofa and a chair work. Of course, a refrigerator and coffee maker have also become standard equipment at this hotel.
the bathroom area is also equipped with a hand shower and rain shower, hair dryer and amenities such as toothbrush, comb, cotton bud and bath soap and shampoo. breakfast in the morning was delivered to the room because it followed the PPKM Darudat protocol with a menu of fried rice, sliced fruit, bread, orange juice, milk and mineral water. overall it is very comfortable to stay at this hotel, it's just that they can't take advantage of facilities such as swimming pools, gyms and children's...
