Should you want a place to luxuriate in an environment where you can shut off from the world or to enable a good quality R & R....look no further.||Went with a group of friends and we were fortunate to go at a time when the resort was quiet. The latter created the opportunity for us to be granted to stay at the West Pavillion villa. ||The villa was beautiful and really GRAND and done in the Classical style.||Felt as if I was staying at the Buckingham Palace. ||Each room at this respective villa was beautifully decorated unique to itself . From the murals on the walls ,the four poster beds and humungous bathrooms. Truly FABULOUS!!!||The wellness centre was just next door. Within this building there were rooms available too. Whilst not as ostentacious as the Villa, the rooms were nevertheless big and beautifully decorated more in tune with a neoclassical style. ||At the spa , we enjoyed the enzymatic "bath" treatment and a healing massage. The spa environment was clean and fairly well appointed to facilitate a calming and restful environment to enjoy the services. Services rendered by the therapist was fair.||The resort is within a 47 hectares estate. Although I opted for the "lazy" options there were lots to do . Walks through semi jungle , Adventure activities, cooking classes, swimming , gym etc. etc.||It is a great venue to consider for team building events or weddings.||What impressed me most is the earnestness of the staff. Whilst for some, communicating in English may prove to be difficult, however they endeavour to try their best to meet your needs.||Note - there are many options on accomodation from hostel like options to modest rooms. All of which are comfortable and clean.||If you enjoy resting and doing pretty much nothing then I would strongly recommend that you spend at least 3 night at this place. However if you prefer shopping or city life you may find this place a little...
Read moreWe stayed at the Group accommodation for around 2 weeks. When we first arrive, we were shock to see that there were no fans or air-conditioning in the rooms but soon realise that we don't need one since the night is always cooling. It is not encouraged to stay in the rooms in the day as we can get pretty hot.||||As for the Group accommodation, 1 house has 4 rooms that has 2 single-beds each. It also has 2 toilets, 2 showers and 2 sinks. There is a water dispenser and an electric kettle. Surprisingly, there is also a place for us to hang our wet clothes if we intend to wash them which we did due to our long stay.||||Breakfast is buffet style as it is complimentary. They do serve Indonesian style breakfast as well as toast, tea and coffee. The dining area is close to our Group accommodation so it was good for us. ||||They also have luxury suites at their renovated palace which behind it, is a den for peacocks! Sometimes those peacocks would wander around which makes it a delight for us to take some pictures.||||The resort also provides quite a few recreational activities like the Enzyme Spa, Paintball etc. They also have an organic farm located nearer to the entrance which you can visit with the guides. ||||Speaking of the guides, there is a couple of them that really do speak English very well. Nonetheless, they and the rest of the resort staff are always helpful and polite. ||||One of the biggest attraction of the resort is that they function as a Social Enterprise helping out the surrounding local communities in terms of infrastructure, job provision and education. In fact, we went there because we were involve in doing an enrichment program fr the local community led by the Kaliandra Foundation.||||In overall, it was a meaningful and beautiful stay...
Read moreStayed in the wellness center, room quality is high, relatively new building. Price definitely worth it, as good as any 4 or 5 star hotel.||||I do think with other cheaper room options, it is probably difficult to maintain some consistency with quality of service across the whole resort. ||||Staff is nothing but helpful and friendly, but some parts of the resort were perhaps decidedly less than 4 or 5 stars. We checked out the gym, which had big dead bugs all over the floor, the swimming pool water was cloudy suggesting the filtration system had been off for a few days at least and had 'things' floating on the surface. We skipped both.||||The food was good and very cheap for international standards. We loved the coffee made fresh at the souvenir shop and the organic ice cream. Food in the top restaurant was good, a limited menu of local cuisine but very tasty. Massage and enzyme treatment also god.||||Definitely recommend the walking tour with a guide, good experience to see and hear about the social impact kaliandra is making on the community. Loved how they have a clinic on site that charges local people less than a 1 USD for a visit. Certainly makes you forget whatever small issues the service might have.||||Grounds are lovely with the peacocks, gardens, ponds etc. We just relaxed, took in the sights and sounds of nature.||||Overall, well-recommended to go and visit. Make time to talk to the staff about what Kaliandra does and it makes you feel good both on the outside...
