Kaliantan Paradise Bungalow — Hotel in Jerowaru

The only place close to the kitesurfing spot where you can stay. It's a good 5 minutes drive to go to the spot. The rooms look like small bungalows. They are very nice but very basic. A bed, a mosquito net, a fan and a bathroom. You also have a small terrasse with 2 chairs and a small table. They also provide a tiny blanquet and a towel. For the price (200k/night without breakfast for us), in this area, we were expecting a little more confort (a small closet, a small lamp maybe, ...). The main problem for us was the proximity with the mosque. We are used to travel in Indonesia but this mosque, which is 200 meters from the accomodation, has a very loud sound with average quality speakers. You are sure that, even with ear plugs and good headphones on top you won't sleep. We used the kitchen and it was very appreciable. You have everything you need to cook. The kiting spot is great, and we had some really good sessions when the wind was blowing. The spot has flat waters, but also waves at high tide and unlimited space. Would love to come back in the high season. Sadly as in many beaches around there is plastic rubbish being washed onto the beach and staff cleans it daily. There is a hut to hide in the shade at the spot, and very tasty food can be delivered to the beach from kite camp. All the staff is lovely and super friendly (Herman, Una, Djuanda, Luna, Adi and others), and they look after you really well. We stayed at the paradise bungalows - it’s 5min from the beach. Fab food is served there. The accommodation is on the very basic side but ok to stay for a short stay. It’s in the middle of a jungle so understandably there are mosquitos and insects.
