Our stay was absolutely wonderful. KajaNe is remote and very private. A very good place to escape the world and relax in your own private pool on the beach. Our room was perfect for us and the staff are beyond helpful. We would just get room service to our room and the food was fantastic and the service friendly and fast. You can arrange lifts into town at any time before 10pm complementary of the resort. On the last night we asked if we could have dinner on the beach and had a lovely 3 course meal on the beachfront which they made truly special for us. Anything you wan't/need just ask they are happy to accommodate hence us asking for a beachfront dinner. ||We stayed in the villa with a private pool 1 bedroom with beachfront. The room is like a gorgeous beach bungalow with the best ocean views. It is absolutely private and extremely relaxing and a good place to reconnect and spend some time with your significant other. The pool is really big and deep and we spent the majority of our time in the pool. I found the pool to be very clean and the water was fine. I had seen complaints on here about the pool but if you are going to get in and out of the pool all day with sunscreen, oils, ocean water ect what do you expect? Shower first then get in and the pool stayed perfectly clean for us. The bed is the most comfortable bed I have ever slept on while you can listen to the sounds of the ocean as you go to sleep. This room has a full size fridge in the little outdoor kitchen area on the patio. This was great if you wanted to bring some of your own food and alcohol. I loved the outdoor bathroom and it suited us well as we would spend our days outside. If you are not an outdoor kind of person I would not recommend this room to you. Part of the charm of this outdoor living are the local visitors to the room. The odd frog, lizard and cat but this just adds to the charm of the place. We loved it. The outdoor bathroom is amazing. Loved the shower and the bath. Absolutely gorgeous. |Staff mention that some people complain that this room is to hot. Well we are outside people and spent our days outside and did not find the room hot at all. If you are going on a tropical holiday you have to expect it to be hot! We went in September so the garden at this villa was dry but you are on the dry side of the island at the end of the dry season so we were expecting that. If some grass is going to destroy your holiday best to visit at the end of the wet...
Read moreSometimes when I think about this little gem of a hotel I have to rub my eyes and assure myself that it wasn’t all a dream. I spent nine blissful, perfect days there and, given the option, would cheerfully have stayed for ever.||||This is diving country, but the hotel does not cater to divers. It has no boat, no water sports facilities, no aqualungs being noisily pumped up into the wee small hours. It just exists on the edge of a black, stony beach, facing due east. There is a hotel block, the ‘mansion’, but most of the accommodation consists of secluded villas.||||My enormous room had everything I could desire and a few extras too. It was vast. I would leave the curtains ajar and be woken by the sunrise before going for a swim in the pool and ordering breakfast in my room – breakfast and afternoon tea are included in the price and you can choose to eat either in your room or by the pool.||||Now here’s the thing – for most of the 9 days, I was the only guest. I felt as though I was living in Downton-by-the-Sea, with a small staff of cheerful and efficient young people to cater to my every whim, even down to providing a courtesy car to run me anywhere local I might want to go. Note: this hotel is very isolated, and the only road out is up a steep hill. The nearest convenience store is a twenty-minute drive away. Not for the infirm or faint hearted, who should also avoid the ‘mansion’ block as it has no lift.||||There is no restaurant as such but a great room service menu. On my first night I skimmed it and reckoned that in nine days I would probably eat my way through it. Fat chance! The food was varied, plentiful and delicious, all brought to my room and cleared away afterwards.||||I feel bad about naming individuals, because everyone at this haven was efficient and kind and lovely, but Harius, who doubled up as driver, and Komang, went out of their way to make my stay a once in a lifetime experience.||||If I ever have the good fortune to go back, I’d avoid the villas, although that’s just a personal preference. They are surrounded by high walls, which in the case of the villa I was offered meant no sea view and no sunrise. The accommodation also seemed a little cramped compared to my barn of a room in the ‘mansion’. The villa pools, while sparkling, are small.||||I will never forget this wonderful experience … but it’s not for everyone, and if scuba diving is your thing you would do...
Read moreWe just finished an incredible four-night stay at this beautiful hotel in Tulamben, Bali, and can’t recommend it highly enough. We stayed in a cozy villa with a private garden and an absolutely huge pool, making it feel like our own tropical oasis. The villa itself was built in a traditional Balinese style, adding a lovely atmosphere, and we especially loved the outdoor bathroom in the backyard, complete with a spacious bathtub in the garden corner.
The hotel grounds are lush and beautifully maintained, with a welcoming, friendly staff who went out of their way to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was delicious, and the hotel offered the option to dine anywhere on the property. We loved having breakfast on our private terrace and enjoying dinner by the common pool with views of the ocean.
For anyone who loves snorkeling and diving, this location is perfect. The hotel has a private beach with easy access to a stunning reef just offshore, so you can start snorkeling right there! Tulamben’s famous dive sites, including the Liberty Wreck and Coral Garden, are only a short, free shuttle away. During our stay, we enjoyed five memorable dives where we saw vibrant corals, diverse fish, and even a huge turtle. This has easily become our favorite dive spot.
