Stayed three times in this homestay - a total of about 6 nights. The 12 or so rooms are laid out around a courtyard, away from any sort of street-noise. The rooms are very clean, the bed comfy and the AC worked very well.||||Room prices start from 175k, which gets you a cold-water only shower and no towel. A simple breakfast is included. If you want hot-water you can get a superior room for 250k, which gives you a hot shower, towel, tea-making facilities etc. Both types are very comfortable, big rooms.||||The staff is very friendly and helpful and some of them speak very reasonably good english, so communication was never an issue. Thanks a lot for the tasty dinner one evening (for free btw!)!||||There is in-room wifi. Very strong signal with a very fast connection! A big plus really. They also have a generator in case of a power cut (happened more then once).||||As mentioned by others everything you need is close to the homestay. From a tourist perspective I can add that the waterfront is just a 5-10 minute bemo-ride away and that you can rent scooters for just 50k a day from the homestay. If you need a driver with your scooter just ask. They make very fair prices.||||The only halfway negativ is that in one room (No. 3) the water smelled a bit strange in the beginning and that the walls of the standard rooms are pretty thin, so if you are unlucky with a noisy neighbour... but it never happened to me. ||||Overall I liked my time...
Read moreThis homestay was my first choice when I had to visit Kupang on business trip. There were only 4 reviews on Tripadvisor and all of them were good reviews, so I thought I should give it a try. The room was clean, with LCD TV, working aircon, and clean bathroom with shower. There were options for daily, weekly, or monthly rent with good prices. There were also single bed and twin bed options. The breakfast (french toast and coffee) was only available for daily rent. There were no towel, soap, or shampoo, but I was ready with it.||||The homestay is located in Kuanino city center, so you can easily find food stalls, minimarket, drugstore, ATM, market, etc. nearby. It's a little bit hard to find the homestay at first, because it is in the small alley (Jl. Sapta Marga) near the main road (Jl. Sudirman). It was generally quiet, but there were some stray dogs that could sometimes cause trouble (such as when they stole my friend's sandal). Generally no big deal.||||I stayed for 3 weeks here and the only problem was that occasionally the electric meter run out credit and I had to report to the staffs. Luckily the staffs were helpful for all the problems their guest might have, they provided me motorcycle rental with reasonable price, lent me things I needed (like charger, knife, broom, etc), and even gave me travel tips. Staying at this homestay felt like staying at home, best...
Read moreWe stayed four nights in Evergreen Homestay, two each side of a visit to Rote Island. At present they are building additional rooms to add to the 9 they have so initial impressions were a bit of a building site. However, rooms were quite large, with western toilet and air con. They are clean if in need of a coat of paint and some TLC but very acceptable for the money.|| Staff were friendly with one young lady having pretty good English which was invaluable. There was no towel or top sheet but both were provided when we asked. Motorbike rent, laundry and simple meals were all possible at very inexpensive rates. || This was a laid back place where you were not troubled and food could be brought in from outside. || While we were in Kupang, which does grow on you, we checked out several other of the limited range of town hotels available. They were awful, dirty, old and battered. They were also more money. We were very glad we picked Evergreen.|| A good basic stay at...
