Javana Homestay — Hotel in Malang

Very disappointing. Not recommended |We arrived around 20.00 tired after a long day of travel. |From the bus station it was 12km so we had to pay for a taxi to take us there ( that was quite expensive) when we arrived they said that they didn’t have any double rooms available (the ones we booked) just 2 bunk beds!!! The price would be the same... ( they also offered to give us the money back but at that time in the night far away from the city we didn’t have where to go plus would be even more expensive to pick up another taxi) |We booked an independent accommodation (deluxe double room) WE GOT 2 bunk beds in a ‘room’ without a door, privacy, or isolation. It was noisy, cold and very bright because part the ‘walls’ was made of translucent plastic panels. |Not acceptable, if I wanted to stay in a bunk bed with this conditions I would book it myself for a much lower price and in the city center. Choose another place to stay....

My girlfriend and I stayed here over the muslim festival of fitri with the hope of climbing Mt Bromo and Ijan. However, We were stuck in Malang for 3 days because transport was fully booked. His turned out to be a great experience and we really enjoyed exploring the city of Malang.

Javana homestay would be the perfect place to start your adventure to mt Bromo, and is the perfect place to enjoy Malang. The location is out of town in a beautiful suburb surrounded by jungle, and you can see how middle class Javanese people live and enjoy peaceful walks. It is then very easy and cheap to take a taxi in to explore the historic city and have some traditional Javanese food.

Great little bungalow to stay when arriving in Malang. Free water refill, coffee and tea. Breakfast was included which was fried rice with an egg. Dinner was 25,000- fried rice, noodles, soup. Big beer was 50,000. The family there was really sweet ! On the first night they invited us to eat in their house because they were having a celebration. Also there was a really cute puppy to play with as well as chickens and rabbits. It is a little loud in the morning as it is right on the street and the rooster is loud. WiFi is poor.
