Novotel Manado Golf Resort & Convention Center Jl. A. A. Maramis

We stayed from 17-24 Dec 2017.

Hotel staff were kind enough to shift & upgrade our room due to cleaniness issue at the first room given (1115) on our check-in date.

And straight away, on the same date, our bad experiences commenced. Admitted, it's my mistake to left my wristwatch in the previous room. About two hours past then I came to realize. Hotel staff contacted, and my wristwatch declared not found, ... it's gone.

That evening Hotel staff response was unbearably slow, in my opinion, they took it too lightly. After sometime waiting for never coming duty manager I had to leave hotel for my kids dinner. By accident, on the way out I met the Security Supervisor, nobody from hotel staff advised him about the incident, he was made aware only after I informed him.

After returning hotel that night, then we could meet the DM. Like it's not a big deal, he said they would start the investigation tomorrow morning. Till I told him the actions I'll take to escalate this incident, then he realized how messed up they were. He tried to process the incident that night, but it's too late already, shift already changed.

In the following morning, I found the security report tossed in below my room door. Well, as expected, every person went inside room 1115 after we shifted, started from the receptionist who received the room key from us to housekeeping guy next after, declared none found.

I can easily buy another wristwatch, but that one, was so special, a gift from my wife, more than 10 years I loved to use. She bought it when she didn't have much money.

Till we left the hotel, no other follow up from hotel management. So it's just lost, ironically on our check-in date.

Noticed, there are major airlines crew stayed at this hotel for transit purposes. They are busy people, potentially could left something behind. Maybe they will be treated differently.

Housekeeping management really poor, it took 2 days for the staff to understand & can meet our request for additional blankets and towels. And it only last a day, next guy took the extra towel away following morning. Extra bed need hours to be provided.

Poor training.

Secure car parking system not available. Guest has to park their car few hundred meters away from lobby on open yard. You could park the car at lobby area, but you have to leave car key with hotel staff and will be given a receipt card, printed with disclaimer hotel will take no responsibility for any bad things happened beyond their control, including theft. Vehicles enter the area will be stopped by security guy, only to ask where you want to go. But for leaving vehicles, nobody bothered to stop you, no means of control provided for exit.

Swimming pool available until dark hours. There are 3 shielded electrical cables visible on the pool side running into water to 3 lighting fixtures. Each of these light are not properly secured/ firmly attached to the wall in the water. One of the electrical cable looks like being manually spliced and covered, submerged. Does not look good and not meeting my safety standards, photos taken. Upon noticing this condition, my family immediately left the pool.

A normal deviation? Or it's a tip of an iceberg, some bigger issues waiting to rise.

Hotel staff are nice and I can see they felt sorry too, I respect them. But one culprit remains unknown.

Breakfast served well, pastries surprisingly delicious for choco bread & brownies.

At H2O pool bar, Heineken Draught available & Vita Lite drinks taste really good.

Well, definitely I won't be returning to this hotel neither recommend to friends. Hotel location closed to my family residence, that's the only advantage and reason I decided to continue our stay here.

The alternative and solution will be through Airbnb next time, available at Menado and in this particular area.

This is the first poor performance Novotel we've stayed so far. Hopefully other Novotel Hotels will continue to serve with better, safer &...

Novotel is definitely a good place to stay just by considering that it's just 15 min from the Manado airport and just as far from the center of the city. You can still stay at this place because it's half wall to city, inner island main interesting points like special food, culture and nature beauty and ofc the airport. To go for the main city I won't cost much, about 2 USD with the app Grab or Gojek or about 0.5-1 usd in local transportation (blue van) just to feel like a real resident, this type of transportation it's paid in sections 4k IDR for passenger on top of it just name of the Novotel when using that zone for them to know where to stop. The choices are limited if you want a hotel that offers breakfast and swimming pool together, I definitely got that limited choice's. The buffet breakfast it's sufficient and for what I can see they change the local foods each day that is something I always makes me upset in staying 2 weeks eating always the same thing over and over but over here its not happening. They have big swimming pool it's more for up to teenagers to use when the adult (parents) go golfing or say at the bar. Like all hotels, I went even the most expensive they all had problems, this one it's no different but when something happen, i just ask for the manager of front desk, he is really friendly and solved my problems effectively made my stay far more enjoyable for sure. For what I read they like to upgrade the room for the clients if possible, even knowing that's it's not a really every time I didn't mind. Next time I visit this island I'll definitely get a room in this...

Disclaimer: TripAdvisor, STOP DELETING MY REVIEWS!!!! It’s frustrating and time-consuming!!||||I had yet another absolutely wonderful stay at Novotel Manado Golf Resort, and I can speak highly of the fantastic team! They made my stay so special! A huge thank you to Mr. Fernando K, affectionately known as “Nando”, Ms. “Riri” Merry S, Mr. Rio, Thania, Mrs. Gloria, and Om Nelsen (Front Desk), and also the enthusiastic trainee Junior. Their efforts are outstanding. Mr. Nando went above and beyond to ensure that the free shuttle timetable (from Novotel to downtown Manado) was up-to-date. He addressed previous misinformation with efficiency and care. Nando works at a very high level and he is truly dedicated to perfection!||The restaurant experience was a highlight, thanks to the impeccable professionalism of Gloria “Glory,” whose warm service and attention to detail stood out. Another gem on the team is the hardworking Mrs. Siti, whose commitment added so much to the dining experience. The menu featured delicious local Manado cuisine, and I enjoyed the Tinutuan (Bubur Manado)! The Welcome Drink options are great, with the banana smoothie being my personal favorite, refreshing in the heat.||The pool area is lovely, offering a relaxing atmosphere with beautiful surroundings. Although I noticed some mosquitoes at times, perhaps a minor inconvenience that could be managed.||Overall, the resort’s hospitality and this amazing team, made my visit memorable. I highly recommend this resort to anyone looking for a warm and welcoming...

Didn't meet a lot of Novotel standards in terms of room and service quality. The Deluxe Room I got looked nice at a glance, but looked further, lots of improvements and maintenance needed. Perhaps the best thing about this hotel is that it's close to the airport. EDIT: The whole stay experience was not up to Novotel's standard. During check in, I wasn't reminded of my room type, wasn't given my entitled welcome drink voucher, wasn't reminded about the room upgrade, wasn't informed where the restaurant for breakfast is. In simplicity, it was just "welcome, please sign here, here's your key, good night". No smiles. Room was spacious and nice at first glance but looked further and I realized it was not so well-equipped. There are only two places where I can find tissues; next to sink and in the toilet, none in the living area. Both shower and toilet room doors are potential hazards; the iron handles could smash the glass wall if the door is opened carelessly. Should've put on door stopper. Overhead shower head sprays waters everywhere except downwards; the head needs some cleaning. No soap dish at the sink. Pillowcases were not so clean.

Their pool closed early and their gym closed at 9 which doesn't make sense because what maintenance does it need to be closed for 10 hours. We had a late check in and early check out since we booked last minute so we ended up paying full price to use barely any of the amenities. Waste of great amenities
