Hotel Santika Mataram — Hotel in Mataram

We wanted to have a short staycation to celebrate my daughter's birthday and let my family rest while my husband and I enjoyed a concert at the former Selaparang airport, so we decided to visit this hotel since it was not far away from the concert venue.

When we arrived at the hotel on Saturday afternoon, apparently there was an event to celebrate Mataram city's anniversary held at Taman Sangkareang, the city park right in front of the hotel, on Sunday. The hotel staff informed us beforehand that there might be loud and noisy sounds from the event (we even got the written notice about it), but we didn't mind at all. My family even enjoyed the event before checking out of the hotel.

We were welcomed by super-friendly and helpful staff. They answered every single question I asked, including whether I could light the birthday cake's candle in the room to surprise my daughter. The housekeeping staff even provided me with matches to turn on the candle. Also, another staff came into my room to return my ID card that was left on the receptionist's desk, and I was super thankful of that.

We ordered two rooms: a Superior King for me and my husband, and a Superior Twin + extra bed for my family (3 adults and 2 kids). The rooms were not too soundproof and not too spacious, but they were homey and super comfortable. The Superior King room got a pool view and was placed near the lobby, while the Superior Twin was located at the back of the building. We were a bit difficult to go back and forth between the rooms, but the receptionist had informed us about the condition since the room types were different.

Besides its proximity to the concert venue, we selected this hotel due to its cuisine. They had various choices from Asian to Western breakfast, and, as expected from Santika, they were all delicious. I loved the chicken porridge and salad bar. They even had lupis (a traditional Sasak dish made of glutinous rice flour), which were rarely found in many other hotels.

While the rooms provided comfort and a view, I experienced an unexpected inconvenience due to the smell of cigarette smoke going through my bathroom exhaust, which I found out after coming from the concert at 11 pm. My husband and I tried to shrug it off, but apparently, the smell got through the bathroom door into our room and made it a bit hard to breathe. So I had to call the staff to solve the problem, and they came to my room to fix it even at midnight (kudos to them!). This inconvenient experience only occurred in the King room, while my family in the Twin room didn't encounter anything unpleasant. I completely understood that this hotel attempted to accommodate smokers as well (we can choose smoking and non-smoking rooms and, obviously, I chose the non-smoking one), but I hope that in the near future, they will not let the non-smoking guests sleep next to the smoking guests next door.

Overall, everything was perfect except for the cigarette smoke. I will probably pay another visit if we need another short...

There are plenty of nice waterfalls within 40 minutes to an hour drive. Architectures? The iconic Islamic center and Kota Tua Ampenan are in the neighborhood.

My recent stay at Hotel Santika Mataram was truly memorable. The room was quite spacious with nice and comfy bed, clean bathroom with rain shower and fully equipped with toiletries.

The staffs here are surely one of the main reasons why Santika Hotel is the perfect place to stay. From the moment we arrived at the hotel to the day we leave. They are very kind, friendly and very helpful.

This is 4/5 star ⭐️ hotel -the review said so 😁. Apparently this hotel chain business belongs to govt. My stay experience has been great but it’s important to note that if you are coming to lombok for trip or sightseeing, this is not for you for some reason. I would say most of the guests who are staying here are locals and often the hotel hosts government related activities here, this is the part you get the crowd once it happens. That being said, you don’t really feel the vibes as a guest. The pool?? It has been great to enjoy the pool, it’s nearby the food court and mini fitness. Apparently the hotel seems to find a way to get their hotel busy, right yesterday, they were hosting a birthday party by the pool, it lasted forever and for me, as a guest and wanted to enjoy my last day here couldn’t make it to soak my body enjoying the pool. They could have hosted it in a ball room or some sort, so the guests wouldn’t be bothered 🚨. Location??? This is situated right in the heart of Lombok, 30 mins to Senggii beach, 90 mins to Kuta beach. You can use grab apps to get around. Keep in mind the hotel does not provide any travel and tour related services. Hope you find...
